Kuminga's negotiation obstacles exposed! Differences in options still exist as the Warriors refuse to part with Hield or Moody.

On August 11, Beijing time, renowned journalist Jack Fischer updated the progress of negotiations between the Warriors and Kuminga. There are still barriers whether it’s about contract extension or trade.

In the extension talks, sources revealed that the Warriors are unwilling to change their stance on the second year of the two-year, $45 million offer they made to Kuminga, insisting that the second year be a team option. Kuminga's camp hopes for a player option in the second year. Previously, journalist Shams reported that Kuminga rejected the Warriors' offer of two years, $45 million, and at that time, Shams disclosed that the Warriors insisted on including a team option in the contract and required Kuminga to waive the trade veto rights granted by the labor agreement.

Earlier reports indicated that the Warriors had discussed sign-and-trade options for Kuminga with the Kings and Suns but were dissatisfied with the offers. Now, the Warriors' stance is to welcome other teams to continue discussions regarding Kuminga's sign-and-trade, but their trading stance has also been revealed: they are unwilling to include either Hield or Moody in trades to match salaries.

Due to the base year compensation rules in the labor agreement regarding sign-and-trade, any trades that require bringing in higher-salaried players may necessitate the Warriors to add an extra player. However, Fischer pointed out that the Warriors view Moody and Hield as valuable contributors for the upcoming season.

Last season, Hield and Moody became two of the more stable shooters on the team. Moody averaged 9.8 points and 0.8 steals per game, with a three-point shooting percentage of 37.4%; Hield averaged 11.1 points, with a three-point shooting percentage of 37%, and was the only player on the Warriors to play all 82 games. Hield's career three-point shooting percentage stands at 39.7%, and last season's percentage was actually the second lowest of his career. Among returning players on the Warriors, only Curry, Poole, and Podjemski had higher shooting percentages than these two.

Fischer stated that the Warriors' reluctance to part with either of these two players is one of the significant obstacles they face in trade negotiations.
