Confirmed! Officially joining the CBA! The future top guard of the Chinese men's basketball team

Here they come, here they come.

The Zhejiang men's basketball team has officially announced that Li Yuezhou has been promoted to the first team and will compete in the 25-26 CBA season.

In the new season, Wu Qian will serve as both player and assistant coach, while Wang Yibo is expected to transfer to the Qingdao team with a three-year maximum salary (awaiting official announcement). Therefore, if all goes well, Li Yuezhou will likely be heavily utilized in his rookie season, at least taking on a stable rotation role instead of spending most of his time on the bench like many other rookies.

Li Yuezhou was born on April 9, 2007, standing about 1.90 meters tall as a dual-position guard. He is a key player for the Chinese U19 national team and averaged 22.4 minutes per game in last year's U17 World Cup, scoring 15 points, grabbing 3.6 rebounds, dishing out 4.4 assists, and making 1.7 steals. Notably, he has an impressive three-point shooting average of 52.9%, making 2.6 three-pointers per game, showcasing a well-rounded and aggressive offensive skill set.

Unfortunately, just before this year's U19 World Cup, Li Yuezhou suffered a transverse fracture, significantly weakening the team's strength after losing such a key perimeter player. The team ended the tournament with a record of 2 wins and 4 losses, finishing in 13th place.

If he continues to grow robustly, Li Yuezhou is expected to become an important part of the backcourt for the Chinese men's basketball team in the future. His predecessor and Zhejiang teammate, Cheng Shuai Peng, serves as a good example. So far in this year's Asian Cup, Cheng Shuai Peng has averaged 24 minutes per game, contributing 15.3 points and 2 assists, with a shooting percentage of 50%, making an average of 3.3 three-pointers per game, currently being the top scorer for the Chinese men's basketball team.

In the 24-25 season, the Zhejiang team finished the regular season with a record of 30 wins and 16 losses, ranking ninth in the league. In the first round of this year's playoffs, they lost 1-2 to the Qingdao team led by Yang Hansheng. Their championship momentum is not as fierce as in the previous two years, but hopefully, Li Yuezhou can bring new changes to the team.

It is worth mentioning that the core player in the Zhejiang team's frontcourt, Yu Jiahao, has confirmed that he will be playing for the Bilbao Basket in Spain next season, earning about 2000 euros per month. While this salary cannot compare to the millions of RMB often seen in the CBA, his main goal is to improve himself, hoping to achieve a significant leap in his career.

In summary, to some extent, the Zhejiang team is entering a rebuilding phase, and Li Yuezhou may very well be the answer for the new stage of the team.
