Middle-order batsman Head opened the innings in place of the injured Usman Khawaja during Australia's second innings, and the aggressive left-hander scored a century off 69 balls—the second quickest in Ashes history—on his way to a match-winning 123 runs.
Head told the media before the second test in Brisbane on Thursday that he was ready to open again, but Carse said the visitors will be prepared no matter who bats early in the innings.
"I think that was an outstanding innings by a top-class player," Carse said on Monday. "If he opens the batting again, we have specific plans ready to implement."
"But again, I don’t believe it changes anything mentally. He had a fantastic day out there... whatever comes our way, we will stick to our strategies."
England are aiming to respond after their eight-wicket loss inside two days in Perth, where Carse took five wickets despite the defeat.
There are concerns about Mark Wood's fitness ahead of the test, but Carse said the bowling attack remains settled even if his fellow fast bowler is ruled out of the day-night, pink-ball match.
"I will remain flexible depending on what the situation demands," the 30-year-old said.
"Obviously, there are different challenges this week, with the possibility of bowling under lights at various times.
"But as a bowling unit, we are quite settled on our plans and roles within the team."
