Every action of the team is under close observation on the five-Test Ashes series, with players tracked at the airport, on golf courses, and even during a visit to an aquarium.
Stokes and other team members were photographed this week riding electric scooters in Brisbane without helmets, leading to the Courier-Mail newspaper in the city running a front-page headline calling them "Pommy Idiots" on Thursday.
Queensland state law fines those who do not wear helmets, with police stating they had "engaged with those persons to inform and educate them on compliance requirements".
Stokes said being closely watched is an inherent part of touring Australia and he is not bothered by it.
"If the media thinks it will prevent us from enjoying this country during our free time, it won’t," he told the BBC.
""Australia is the best place to tour outside of cricket. There are countless activities to do. You can explore unique Australian attractions, visit excellent golf courses, coffee shops, and convenient spots for lunch."
He emphasized that having breaks is essential for players to relieve pressure.
“We are human,” he remarked. “We need to enjoy countries when we have the chance because we live in England, where it’s gloomy, freezing cold, and dark by 4 pm.”
England are getting ready for the second Test in Brisbane, beginning Thursday.
They were defeated in the series opener in Perth by eight wickets within two days.
