King of Glory launched the "Star Coin Exchange" event in-game this week. Originally, everyone was quite happy because it essentially means getting Star Coins, a game item, for free. It's worth noting that since this item was revamped into Star Coins, its value has indeed increased significantly, but there aren't many ways to obtain it. Therefore, limited-time events often appear in the game. However, this event is really hard to evaluate—it's full of points to criticize.

King of Glory hasn't had many events recently, and most were related to King of Glory World. But this week, there's finally an event for King of Glory itself, and it rewards Star Coins, which everyone likes. Since Star Coins were revamped, their value has really gone up. They can not only be exchanged for Starry Skin variants but also for recall effects, trailing effects, etc. However, in-game acquisition channels are limited, so participating in limited-time events is worthwhile.

Event Rules

This event is called "Star Coin Exchange." Just from the name, you can tell it's not like previous task-based reward events; instead, you need to exchange other items for Star Coins, which is indeed the case.

First, you need to use your account's Gold, Diamonds, and Hero Fragments to exchange for Star Coins, starting from 10 Star Coins. However, the exchange price isn't fixed; it refreshes randomly daily based on probability, with four quality levels: Red (2%), Gold (2.5%), Purple (37.5%), and Blue (58%). Lower probability means fewer exchange items required. Simply put, aiming for Red and Gold is more profitable, while Purple and Blue are somewhat a loss.

Additionally, there are other rules: Besides daily automatic refresh, you can get one refresh chance by playing matches. All three currency items refresh, and the price directly overwrites, but the chance expires and clears on the same day. If you refresh to Red/Gold, you can share it with other players. If shared and used by up to five people, you get a 10 Star Coin reward.

This event can yield up to 430 Star Coins, with 10 from sharing and the remaining 420 being the maximum exchange amount. However, you can only exchange up to 60 Star Coins per day, shared across the three currency items.

Event Evaluation

Honestly, the event rules are relatively complex, more so than previous login, match task rewards, or direct exchange events. It feels comparable to past skin giveaway or limited-time coupon events.

Regarding rewards, first consider Star Coin purchasing power. Currently, exchanging for Star Legend skins in the shop requires 3000 Star Coins, Star Epic skins require 1800. Common Blue Yuanliu Sons sets need 450, while Purple quality recall/trailing effects also require 450 Star Coins. However, broadcasts, emotes, etc., are quite cheap, and some skin Starry parts are discounted. So, 430 Star Coins are relatively few but can still exchange for some items.

Moreover, this event benefits veteran players most. Those who have played longer tend to have more Gold, Diamonds, Hero Fragments, etc. Since they already have all heroes, there's usually no place to spend these, making this event the best channel to use them up. For example, on Xiaodi's own account, there's currently Gold. Even calculating at the highest Blue quality exchange price (6000 Gold = 10 Star Coins), maxing it out completely costs only 250,000 Gold—no心疼 at all. The same goes for Hero Fragments and Diamonds—no need to chase Red quality. Thus, this event becomes much more hassle-free.
