A few days ago, Honor of Kings announced that Gongsun Li will receive a crossover skin with Honor of Kings Chess, namely the Shard Steward, which is part of the same series as Mozi's Shard Steward from Honor of Kings World. However, the difference is that this skin has an exclusive tag for Honor of Kings Chess, and Gongsun Li's Shard Steward will become available for acquisition after the launch of Honor of Kings Chess. So, before its release, let's take a look at the current skin usage preferences of Gongsun Li players.

Skin Preferences of Top Gongsun Li Players

Let's first look at the actual distribution. Xiao Di's statistics this time are from his own Android Q server, which is the most competitive among the four major servers. Among the 10 top Gongsun Li players (real-time, not ranked), three have hidden their information.

Among the remaining seven players who have displayed their profiles, four have the limited Ultimate skin Li Hen Yan as their main showcase, while the other three players each use different skins: the Epic quality Infinite Star Officer, the Legendary quality Cloud Promise Thousand Mountains, and the Legendary quality Snow Prayer Spirit's Star Legend Cold Feather Hymn. Is this distribution what you expected?

What Are the Advantages of These Skins?

Let's start with the limited Ultimate skin Li Hen Yan. This is part of the Ink Jianghu series, with an ink-wash martial arts style. It features azure green paired with rouge red, and the weapon, the Li Ren Lei flute, can transform into a smoke umbrella. All skill effects are ink-wash smoke spirits, making it highly recognizable in the Rift. As an Ultimate skin, it is obtained through the Ultimate Wish draw, with a guaranteed price that is not low. It is not only the highest-quality skin for Gongsun Li currently but also one that relatively few players own.

The main reason why most players use it is that the skin's special effects and hit feedback are exceptionally well-done, far surpassing Gongsun Li's other skins. This is because Gongsun Li is a marksman who relies heavily on basic attacks, and unlike other marksmen, she also depends on her skills. Basic attacks are often combined with various displacement effects, so the feel needs to be very smooth, and the sound effects for hits must be precise. Li Hen Yan perfectly meets these requirements.

Besides Li Hen Yan, other Gongsun Li players choose Infinite Star Officer, Cloud Promise Thousand Mountains, and the Snow Prayer Spirit Star Legend Cold Feather Hymn. This is relatively scattered, with personal preference playing a significant role. Cloud Promise Thousand Mountains is an FMVP custom skin of Legendary quality, featuring a cloud-god design in cyan and gold, with a hidden trophy in the recall animation, giving it strong commemorative value. Cold Feather Hymn is a Star Legend of the Ox Year Limited Snow Prayer Spirit, released in the past two months. Its theme is ice frost and phoenix, with a blue-white gradient effect that is quite fresh. However, overall the effect changes are not very significant, and as a Star Legend, it falls a bit short of expectations, though the splash art is indeed very beautiful. As for Infinite Star Officer, it's a classic Epic skin with a feel that ranks among the best of all Gongsun Li skins, maintaining a stable player base.

Returning to Gongsun Li's Shard Steward itself, although this skin is only of Brave quality, its effects are actually not bad. With a deep blue and gem blue starry butler design, its overall quality is comparable to Zhang Fei's Street Guardian, and it's not inferior to classic Epic skins like Infinite Star Officer. It looks more like an upgraded version of Flower Dance. Moreover, it can be obtained for free through events, and if you miss October 1st, you can still exchange it for 48 skin fragments. However, we don't know how it feels in actual gameplay yet.
