August is ending, and Honor of Kings has revealed the two limited skins returning in the September Gift Box. Unsurprisingly, they are previously returned skins once more: Dunshan's "Dream Filled with Stars" and Shangguan Wan'er's "Star Magic Troupe". As per tradition, let me break down whether these skins are worth purchasing, offering you some insight.

Dunshan - Dream Filled with Stars

For Dunshan's skin, I think it's worth getting. First, the skin quality itself is quite high. This skin is a space-themed collaboration, which is like having an authoritative endorsement. There was a lot of promotional material at the time, so the details and effects are full of sincerity and effort. The quality of such a collaboration can be trusted.

Moreover, Dunshan is a relatively niche hero, so even after years on the market, he only has this one high-quality Epic skin. The other skins are either season skins or event skins, with the highest quality being Brave. Honestly, they are not much different, so when it comes to Epic quality, players have no other choice.

And after Dunshan's rework, his playability has greatly increased. His current strength is obvious. Paired with some marksmen like Luban No.7 or Irene, he can greatly leverage his advantages. It has even become a strategy in professional matches, so his strength is evident. However, because of this, his ban rate is quite high, especially in high-tier ranked matches like Peak games, so you might not be able to pick him. Overall, the value of this skin is quite high to own.

Shangguan Wan'er - Star Magic Troupe

For Shangguan Wan'er's skin, I wouldn't recommend it. The Star Magic Troupe skin itself is okay, but unfortunately it's not outstanding. This series had four skins in total, and the best effects undoubtedly belong to Han Xin's due to its Supreme quality. So in comparison, Shangguan Wan'er's skin seems a bit mediocre. Moreover, Shangguan Wan'er has many skins—several Legendary ones like the Divine Brush, Delusionary Tales, etc. Coincidentally, these Legendary skins also rotate in the gift box pool, so there are too many options, making this skin less competitive.

Additionally, Shangguan Wan'er's current strength is not high, and her pick rate is low. Although the rework made her much easier to play, allowing many players to use her effortlessly, the hero is still somewhat lacking in strength. So you might not use the skin much after buying it, which reduces its cost-effectiveness. For most players, it's better to save your budget for more worthy skins later rather than rushing to get this one.

One more thing: the returning skins in the gift box come with discounts. You can use discount coins obtained from game tasks to refresh, and you can get them at up to 20% off. So if you really want to get these returning skins, be sure to actively complete tasks, try to get the discount before buying, and save a little.

Overall, if you have to choose only one of these two, my suggestion is to go for Dunshan's "Dream Filled with Stars". For Wan'er, you can wait for better options later. So, do you guys think these two skins are worth getting?
