Hello everyone, I'm Xiaodi from Game.

Last week, news came from the test server about adjustments to Shaosi Yuan, and the changes were quite extensive, including damage, gold acquisition, healing, etc. The numbers were almost overhauled, to the point that it's nearly a rework, which made many Shaosi Yuan players a bit hard to accept at first. After all, Shaosi Yuan has been out for a while and has been popular, so such a big change suddenly inevitably leads to controversy. Some players even wonder if she is being targeted. In this episode, Xiaodi won't discuss whether this adjustment is a buff or a nerf, but rather wants to talk about a more crucial question: Why did the officials make such a big change to Shaosi Yuan?

Shaosi Yuan's Data Performance

Let's first look at the data from the official server. All ranks: win rate 47.5%, pick rate 11.6%, ban rate 28.3%; Peak Match: win rate 49.4%, pick rate 17.2%, ban rate 50.3%; Top Ranked: win rate 50.5%, pick rate 13.2%, ban rate 37.9%. These are the latest data as of the time of publication. There may be some fluctuations overall, but generally there won't be any significant ups and downs.

Current data is not healthy

In terms of win rate, the overall strength of this hero is actually on the weak side. Most ranks have a win rate below 50%, and even the highest, Top Ranked, is just barely passing. This shows that Shaosi Yuan's overall strength is indeed not as expected. You see, generally speaking, most heroes might have a large gap between high and low ranks, which is mainly related to the players' rank and skill level. But if both high and low ranks are low, it means the strength is indeed insufficient. Conversely, if both are high, it indicates she is a bit overpowered. Shaosi Yuan currently belongs to the former category: she has some playability, but overall she doesn't meet expectations.

But looking at the ban rate, this data is a bit abnormal. Especially in Peak Match, the ban rate is as high as 50.3%, almost half. On average, she is banned in every other game, making it very hard to get her. A high ban rate usually means the hero has some overly strong points, or points that cannot be countered. Opponents don't want to face her, and teammates might also be afraid of her inconsistent performance. This is obviously not normal.

On one hand, the win rate is low; on the other hand, the ban rate is off the charts. This actually indicates a problem: Shaosi Yuan creates a split game experience for players. Either she is released and makes people uncomfortable, or she is simply banned. This state is not healthy for either players or the game. So the purpose of this official adjustment is very clear: they want to readjust the hero's strength to a proper level, release her from the ban list, and let everyone be able to play her.

Of course, whether the direction of the changes is reasonable remains to be seen after the official server update. But one thing is certain: if after the adjustment, Shaosi Yuan can be successfully removed from the ban list, it will be a good thing for players who like her. What do you think of this adjustment to Shaosi Yuan? Feel free to discuss in the comments.

That's all for today. If you think it's good, feel free to give a like to support. If you have anything to say, ask, or want to see, leave a comment, and I'll check them all out~
