Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, welcome to Tianxia Game Report.
The S15 LPL season has fully wrapped up, and BLG successfully defeated TES to win the sole championship of the year. After this match, a new historic record was set in the LPL.
With this championship, Knight has ascended to the top of the league, holding six titles—the highest number in LPL history.
The first six-time champion is born, Knight surpasses Chawy.
Since joining TES in 2020, Knight has won six league championships in total. His first title came in the 2020 Summer Split, leading TES to their first league championship. Later, as TES’s strength declined, Knight transferred to JDG two years later.
Editor’s note
JDG built a top-tier roster and swept both the Spring and Summer Splits in 2023, also clinching the MSI championship. Knight was named FMVP in the MSI finals.
After failing at Worlds, Knight joined BLG in 2024 and helped them secure two league championships again.
Including this year’s championship, and considering the new LPL format with only one champion per year, Knight has achieved a five-time consecutive league championship streak, dominating the LPL region from 2023 to 2025.
This achievement allowed Knight to surpass Chawy and Xiaohu’s five championships, becoming the all-time leader in LPL titles.
Among these six championships, Knight earned FMVP four times. The 2023 Spring Split FMVP selection was controversial, as many believed Knight deserved it more than Ruler. Based on performance, Knight clearly contributed more individually than Ruler.
At the peak of his individual skill, mercilessly interrupted by Faker.
From the very start of his career, many had high expectations for Knight. Even before joining TES, he showed outstanding performance in the league, winning numerous MVP awards and topping the MVP charts in a single season. It was only after joining TES and having strong teammates that he truly began his championship journey.
However, TES was both the cause of his success and failure. Knight’s peak years at TES were largely wasted because TES often made critical mistakes in key playoffs and finals after S10, preventing Knight from achieving higher honors.
During this period, there was even a moment when Knight wanted to leave the team but was persuaded by JKL late at night to stay for another year. Unfortunately, TES still failed to deliver results, prompting Knight to join JDG at the end of 2022, starting his streak of championships.
Many viewers argue that league championships alone lack persuasive power. In the historical ranking of League of Legends players, without an S-tier World Championship, a player generally cannot be considered truly top-tier.
After leaving TES, Knight’s two peak championship windows were both ruthlessly interrupted by Faker.
Unfavorable championship windows—can Knight break through adversity?
In the S13 season, JDG’s unfortunate moment came against T1, where T1 displayed incredible millisecond-level reactions. This included Oner narrowly dodging Ashe’s ultimate by one centimeter and Gumayusi’s Kalista narrowly avoiding the same ultimate. Visually, the ultimate’s hitbox was clearly triggered, but extreme reflexes allowed them to evade.
Ultimately, Faker’s Azir ultimate successfully pushed back Varus, helping T1 end JDG’s run in game four.
Last year’s story is well remembered: BLG fought a fierce five-game series against T1 but lost. Two key moments stood out: first, Little Dragon was caught by Faker in the mid lane in game four, allowing T1 to reverse the situation; second, in the deciding game, Oner’s Q-flash misplay led to BLG’s defeat.
Personally, I believe 2023 and 2024 were Knight’s best championship windows. Although BLG won again this year, honestly, this is no longer the team’s peak period and cannot strictly be considered the best championship window.
Under these circumstances, whether Knight and BLG can make a comeback is one of the biggest storylines for this year’s Worlds. If BLG can indeed pull off an upset and win on home turf, it would revitalize the LPL region. We hope BLG gives their best and seizes this opportunity.
