The charitable force behind 14 basketball courts: "Valorant" takes action

On September 23, "Valorant" announced the interim achievements of its charity initiative. So far, basketball courts at nine schools have been successfully built and put into use, with the number expected to rise to 14 by the end of September. Meanwhile, each supported school also received donations of basketball and other sports equipment, injecting new vitality into the children’s athletic lives.

The charity documentary "Fearless Moves, Turning the Game Around," released by Xinhua Quick Look, elevated this philanthropic campaign to a new level. The film follows student representatives from beneficiary schools in Dingzhou (Hebei), Bijie (Guizhou), and Kashgar (Xinjiang), delicately portraying how basketball brings courage, hope, and growth to children. Beyond court construction and equipment donations, "Valorant" officially announced a new partnership with NBA China to infuse more professional strength into the charity efforts. NBA China will provide expert support for the "Valorant" charity campaign, jointly contributing to youth basketball education. As the first major project supported by the "Echo Project," the "Born Fearless · Building Dream Basketball" initiative invests no less than 10 million yuan, collaborating with Tencent Growth Guardian Platform, Tencent Charity, and One Foundation to support sports education resource development in over ten underdeveloped provinces and cities.

Regarding the improvement of educational resources, the "Echo Project" uses basketball as an entry point to create a comprehensive support system covering infrastructure, educational empowerment, and resource assurance. This system aims to provide children with all-around support in sports education, allowing them to grow through sports and pursue dreams through growth.

For the construction of multifunctional sports courts, "Valorant" specifically chose rubberized materials to ensure children’s safety. This material maintains athletic performance while effectively reducing the risk of injuries during physical activity. Every detail reflects "Valorant’s" deep care for the children.

Currently, the "Echo Project" has completed basketball court construction and equipment donations at nine schools across provinces such as Guizhou, Hebei, and Yunnan, with five more projects expected to be implemented this month. Starting in October, students at these 14 schools will be able to run and jump freely on professional, high-quality basketball courts and enjoy the joy that sports bring.

Going forward, the "Echo Project" will continue to support education training and educational materials, providing long-term assistance to sports education in the supported regions.

The collaboration between "Valorant" and NBA China will focus on two aspects. Firstly, in a long-term plan, NBA China will provide professional coaches and courses for the Valorant basketball charity campaign, including basketball training camps for youth and physical education training for sports teachers, aiding the development of basketball education in supported areas.

Secondly, based on the support activities of the 2025 NBA Celebrity Game in Chengdu, "Valorant" and NBA China jointly launched a basketball charity training camp, inviting NBA legend Ray Allen to the site to offer NBA basketball training and exchange opportunities for youth in supported regions. These initiatives will open a door to the professional basketball world for the children.
