Even though LCK’s fourth seed is confirmed as the defending champion T1, the notorious LPL nemesis, and due to this year’s format changes LCK and LPL must battle for half a spot, meaning their fourth seeds meet before the Swiss rounds to claim a group slot! Despite T1 already waiting in the wings, as the saying goes, it’s better to fight among the top 17 than stay home. The last LPL fourth seed spot remains fiercely contested! In the previous match, TES crushed iG to secure the third seed, exposing many issues with iG—strange BP choices and poor player form, though TES is undeniably strong! iG still holds hope for Worlds as long as they can perform at around 50% of their regular season level!

In the first round of the losers' bracket in the play-in, many expected xiaohu, the LPL player with the most Worlds appearances, to step up at a critical moment and gradually secure a spot at Worlds. However, unexpectedly, JDG showed great strength, taking a 2-0 lead with three match points. The fourth game was a bit rushed by JDG, giving WBG a chance, or else it would have been a 3-0 sweep! Next, JDG will battle iG for the last LPL spot, the fourth seed, and based on recent performances, iG looks to be struggling! The team has been repeatedly dominated: first losing 3-1 to BLG, then 3-0 to AL, and 3-1 to TES—three consecutive BO5 defeats. Morale is very low, especially after the last BO5’s baffling BP!
