In the first round of the 2025 Valorant Champions global playoffs, MIBR swept TH 2-0 to progress to the next round.
Map 1: Fracture
Defending side TH: Viper, Viper, Fade, Omen, Astra
Attacking side MIBR: KAY/O, Omen, Sova, Viper, Jett
In the first half, MIBR won the pistol round on offense and then went on a winning streak. TH continuously lost rounds, unable to hold inside the site, and their retakes were ineffective. TH called two timeouts in the first half but managed only four points. MIBR’s offensive control and skill usage were very effective, earning them 8 points in the first half.
In the second half, TH won the pistol round. In round 15, MIBR earned bonus points, but TH eliminated three defenders at site B, with aspas and xenom opting to save their weapons. TH then scored three consecutive rounds. In round 16, MIBR’s retake won the gunfight; TH’s Astra ultimate angle was poor and failed to block mid and B tunnels. In round 17, TH executed a timed plant on site A; MIBR’s utility inside the site failed to stop it, and TH secured kills after planting. TH achieved a three-round winning streak. In round 20, TH attacked site A, resulting in a 2-for-2 trade inside the site; artzin’s and KAY/O’s retake ultimates were delayed by a few seconds, allowing woot’s Viper to deploy toxic screen, but the three TH players inside the smoke were eliminated by MIBR’s trio, who won the round. In round 22, MIBR held site A and destroyed the spike, gaining match point. TH then scored two rounds in a row to push the match into overtime. In overtime, MIBR quickly took two rounds to secure the victory.
Map 2: Split
Defending side MIBR: Neon, Omen, Sova, Killjoy, Viper
Attacking side TH: Viper, Fade, Omen, Sova, Jett
In the first half, MIBR took three consecutive rounds. In round 4, TH successfully held site A against MIBR’s retake to turn the round around. In round 5, TH attempted to pinch site B but was stopped by MIBR at Market; the spike was defused, with woot saving the remaining player. In round 7, woot secured a clutch in Viper’s toxic screen on site B, turning the tide. In round 9, MIBR’s fast retake was successful. In round 10, aspas with his Sova drone secured a double kill through mid, taking down two TH players. TH was outnumbered 3v5 and couldn’t recover. MIBR went on a four-round winning streak, with aspas scoring double kills with his drone for three rounds straight. By halftime, MIBR led 9 to 3 over TH.
In the second half, TH won the pistol round. In round 15, MIBR’s attack on site A resulted in a perfect team wipe. In round 17, MIBR controlled mid and planted on site A; benjyfishy’s 1v1 retake was delayed by Verno’s time stall, allowing MIBR to win the round. MIBR then took three consecutive rounds to clinch the victory on map two.
