VCT: Skuba's consecutive explosive plays dominate the match, NRG sweeps FNC 2-0 to reach the finals

In the 2025 Valorant Champions global tournament winners' bracket final, NRG swept FNC 2-0, advancing to the Paris championship final!

Map One: Ascent

Defending side NRG: Yoru, Jett, Viper, Sova, K/O

Attacking side FNC: Viper, Neon, Yoru, Sage, Sova

In the first half, NRG secured four rounds. In round 5, s0m scored a triple kill with Judge, forcing FNC’s first timeout. Round 6 saw FNC plant on A and successfully hold off NRG’s retake to win the round; their timeout adjustment proved effective. FNC then took two consecutive rounds. In round 8, NRG executed a pincer attack from mid and A short, eliminating FNC and turning the tide with an eco round win. Round 10 had NRG sandwiching FNC at A site, with brawk’s Odin triple kill securing the spike. Halftime score was NRG 8, FNC 4.

In the second half, FNC won the pistol round and gained two rounds back. In round 16, NRG attempted to control mid, but kaajak’s aggressive hold stopped them. Round 19 featured NRG’s intense fake, but FNC remained unfazed; NRG rushed the site too quickly, allowing FNC to take the round. Round 21 saw NRG pushing B continuously, while FNC pressured mid from A, trapping NRG at B site and winning the round on an eco, completing a comeback to tie the score. In round 23, Ethan’s K/O flashbang enabled s0m to control A long, allowing NRG to successfully plant and win the round. Round 24 had kaajak aggressively holding A site and catching NRG off guard, eliminating two players; FNC held A site and forced overtime.

In overtime, NRG won two consecutive rounds to clinch the victory on map one.

Map Two: Bind

Defending side FNC: Phantom, Raze, Brimstone, Sova, Astra

Attacking side NRG: Yoru, Neon, KAY/O, Sova, Viper

In the first half, skuba opened with a four-kill, helping NRG secure the pistol round. In round 4, FNC chose to contest aggressively on A site with their utility but were ultimately eliminated by NRG, who controlled the half dominantly. FNC only managed to win the bonus round, while NRG went on a nine-round winning streak to lead 11-1 at halftime.

In the second half, FNC won the pistol round and gained two rounds. In round 15, mada aggressively held A site and after the smoke cleared, eliminated three FNC players; only alfajer and Little Prince remained but were eventually taken down. Round 18 saw mada find an opportunity to kill boaster; NRG’s eco round successfully defended A site, completing the comeback. NRG won map two and secured their spot in the Paris championship final.
