Introduction: The S15 season has officially started, and it’s believed that the vast majority of players have been paying attention to the recent matchups. All major regional leagues have wrapped up, entering a brief break. The World Championship is about to begin soon, and the official organizers have been releasing various statistics over the past few days. A global championship kill leaderboard has sparked widespread discussion among players worldwide. Unexpectedly, Uzi, who hasn’t participated in the Worlds for five years, still appears on the list, ranking first in average kills per game by a significant margin. Back in the day, Uzi was truly a fearsome competitor for many players.
Most players are quite familiar with the World Championship. As the highest honor in League of Legends, after the conclusion of each major regional league, the top-performing teams gather in one region to compete. After nearly a month of battles, the ultimate World Champion is crowned and awarded an exclusive skin. The S15 season has attracted significant fan attention, with many veteran players returning to competition. Recently, the official data releases have been frequent, and the kill leaderboard for the Worlds main event compiled by foreign media has sparked intense discussions online. Surprisingly, Uzi, who has been absent from the Worlds for five years, still ranks on the list with a commanding lead.
First, let’s look at the player ranked number one, Faker, the mid laner from the LCK region. This is hardly surprising, as since Season 3, he has participated in numerous World Championships and won many titles. He has played 147 matches in the Worlds main event, averaging 3.44 kills per game, with a total of 506 kills. Ranked second is the AD carry Uzi. It’s worth noting that his last Worlds appearance was in Season 9, five years ago. To still hold second place shows just how outstanding and consistent his performance was during his active years.
Throughout his career, Uzi played 72 matches on the Worlds stage, securing 350 kills with an average of 4.86 kills per game. While 350 total kills might not be the highest, his average kills per game are by far the best, leading all professional players by a wide margin. Most other players average around 3-plus kills, with some reaching 4. Ranked third is AD carry Deft, who played 92 matches and scored 344 kills. Fourth is Ruler with 93 matches and 335 kills. Fifth place goes to mid laner Xiaohu, who competed in 100 matches and earned 293 kills, making him the player with the lowest average kills per game at only 2.93.
Also notable is the familiar AD carry, AShui, who has the fewest matches at 61 but achieved 265 kills. His average kills per game rank second only to Uzi, at 4.34. Among the top ten players, there are six from Korea, three from China, and one from Europe/North America. If nothing unexpected happens, AD carry Ruler is likely to surpass Uzi for second place, with only a 15-kill difference between them. Gen.G is currently a favorite for the championship, so it will be interesting to see how many kills Ruler can catch up to Faker. At least by the end of this Worlds, or even the next one, Faker is very likely to remain the leader on the leaderboard.
No one expected that Uzi would still appear on the official kill statistics, especially after being absent from Worlds competition for so many years. When the leaderboard was released, it brought many fans back to memories of past battles. Uzi’s retirement after Season 10 was truly regrettable. In fact, during a previous livestream, he openly admitted that he didn’t really want to retire, blaming RNG for ruining the careers of some professional players.
