VCT: A flawless journey with six consecutive wins, NRG defeats FNC 3-2 to claim the championship

During the 2025 Valorant Champions Grand Finals, NRG triumphed over FNC 3-2 to win the 2025 Valorant Champions tournament.

Defending team NRG: K/O, Phantom, Hawk, Viper, Specter

Attacking team FNC: Nightfall, Viss, Viper, Starfall, Black Dream

In the first half, FNC won the pistol round. In round 3, mada caught FNC off guard from behind and, together with brawk, defended against FNC’s attack. In round 4, brawk held mid with an Odin, while Ethan secured four kills at site B, eliminating FNC’s rifle advantage. In round 8, s0m used a smoke to take out alfajer; FNC continued to push A without checking corners, allowing skuba to get three kills for a perfect team wipe. In round 19, FNC attacked B site; despite a 2v1 post-plant advantage, skuba cleverly baited defuses and won the round with a clutch plant. FNC finally took round 11 at B site for their third point. NRG dominated the first half with an eight-win streak, while FNC only managed one point despite two timeouts. Half-time score: NRG 9 - 3 FNC.

In the second half, NRG secured four consecutive wins to clinch victory on map one.

In the first half, brawk transformed into an Odin master, continuously landing shots and leading the team to three straight points. In round 4, FNC executed a full push at A long, flipping the situation against NRG. In round 9, FNC defended B but left C open; after gaining a numbers advantage, skuba held the BC rotation doors, picking off FNC players one by one. Round 10 saw FNC’s mixed setup at C site unleash efficient firepower. Like map one, NRG’s offense dominated the first half, with brawk and skuba delivering outstanding performances. Half-time score: NRG 9 - 3 FNC.

In the second half, kaajak led with a four-kill pistol round win. In round 14, NRG grouped five players and surprised FNC by attacking C site, resulting in a three-for-three trade. FNC preserved their only frenzy and rotated two players to plant at A site, where Boaster won the clutch. NRG took the bonus round. In round 17, brawk wielded the Odin again, entering god mode, and scored a triple kill at the waterfall on C site to lead the team to victory. In round 19, NRG delayed on A site and destroyed the spike; despite the prince fighting to the end, the planting time ran out. NRG won map two 13-6.

Attacking team FNC: Phantom, Zero, Iron Arm, Hawk, Starfall

NRG started the first half with a three-win streak. In round 4, mada’s deadly horse shot led to NRG losing a gunfight at B site, giving FNC their first point. In round 5, mada’s mid defense paid off; during FNC’s rotation, mada caught them off guard, leaving alfajer alone in a losing clutch. NRG’s full team performed excellently, with mada outmaneuvering FNC completely. NRG went on an eight-win streak in the first half, scoring 11 points to FNC’s 1.

In the second half, the prince led with a four-kill pistol round win. FNC then rallied with five consecutive points. In round 18, NRG attacked A site but lost two players to FNC; NRG still forced the spike plant and won the fight, securing match point. FNC recovered three points. In round 22, NRG took rifles again and tricked FNC’s defense rotation, but FNC retook A site and won the round. FNC scored only 1 point in the first half but gained 11 in the second half, pushing the game to overtime.

In the first overtime round, FNC’s attack controlled mid and pinched B site, winning the round with utility coverage against NRG’s defense. After switching sides, FNC defended A site successfully without losing gunfights.

In the second overtime round, FNC made a classic last-second site entry; NRG’s defense at Luxi was caught off guard and eliminated. After switching sides, NRG smoked and took out Boaster at A site; despite lacking control smokes, kaajak pushed forward, but FNC controlled the map and trapped NRG at the spike site, winning map three.

Attacking team FNC: Sage, Viss, Hawk, Specter, Nightfall

NRG started the first half with three consecutive points. In round 4, FNC took mid control and pushed B for a comeback point. FNC then went on a six-win streak. In round 10, NRG began heavily defending mid, blocking the spike outside B. With little time left, FNC’s last-second rotation was stopped by mada and Gale with a triple kill, holding A small. In round 11, NRG’s defense at mid and B site was broken, letting FNC win easily in a 5v2. Half-time score: FNC 8 - 4 NRG.

In the second half, FNC won the pistol round. In round 15, NRG won the bonus round by taking A site. Round 16’s rifle battle saw FNC defend A site; the prince Viss activated his ultimate to trap NRG at the spike site and eliminate them all. NRG narrowed the gap with three points. In round 20, FNC defended A site with a perfect team wipe; mada was caught while trying to duel and paid the price for his “interaction.” In round 21, FNC held A site on match point and won map four.

In the first half, FNC defended A site with the mage coordinating a triple kill to secure the round. Then kaajak responded with a triple kill at B site, adding another point. Ethan’s triple kill in the bonus round helped stabilize the situation. s0m and Ethan repeatedly supported the team’s backline. NRG went on a seven-win streak. In round 10, kaajak’s deadly horse shot got a triple kill, ending FNC’s losing streak and earning their third point. In round 11, skuba caught kaajak off guard; NRG took B site spike plant and controlled the site to win the round. Half-time score: NRG 9 - 3 FNC.

In the second half, the mage won the clutch and FNC took the pistol round. In round 15, NRG claimed the bonus round. Round 16’s rifle duel in mid saw Ethan eliminate four FNC players; in the clutch, skuba took out kaajak to win the round. NRG took four consecutive points, winning map five and claiming the championship!
