WBG2-0 swept GAM, securing LPL's first victory! The skill gap was huge, and Tian's Qiyana took control of the game.

In the Asia Invitational BO3 between GAM and WBG, after two fierce battles, WBG defeated GAM 2-0 to start strong, securing the LPL region’s first win in the tournament!

In the first match, GAM’s lineup was Aatrox top, Lillia jungle, Akali mid, Aphelios and Poppy bot; WBG had Sion top, Jarvan jungle, Orianna mid, and Lucian with Braum bot. During the laning phase, breathe’s Sion killed Levi’s Lillia solo in the jungle, giving WBG first blood. Later, a 3v3 skirmish bot lane resulted in Light’s Lucian being instantly killed, with GAM trading 1 for 3. Early on, WBG secured two dragons while GAM maintained a 1K gold lead.

In the mid game, after river skirmishes, GAM’s support Poppy was killed, allowing WBG to secure the dragon soul. GAM then took the Elder Dragon. At 29 minutes, GAM’s Aphelios was easily slain in the jungle, and WBG claimed the Cloud Dragon soul. Finally, at 31 minutes, although GAM killed Light’s Lucian, WBG wiped GAM’s team and won the first game. The MVP of the first game was breathe’s Sion.

In the second game, WBG picked Volibear top, Qiyana jungle, Ryze mid, and Kai’Sa with Leona bot; GAM chose Aatrox top, Dragon jungle, Taliyah mid, and Miss Fortune with Alistar bot. During the laning phase, WBG’s Nidalee team fight resulted in a 0-for-3 exchange. Then in the Rift Herald contest, Tian’s Qiyana ulted four opponents, but GAM’s Miss Fortune used a perfect ultimate, turning the fight into a 2-for-3 in GAM’s favor and securing the Herald. Early on, WBG destroyed the first bottom turret and gained a 1K gold lead.

At 23 minutes, WBG took the Elder Dragon without taking any damage. At 28 minutes, GAM killed WBG’s Leona in the jungle, but Tian’s Qiyana unleashed a flawless ultimate, and xiaohu’s Ryze flashed over the tower to kill Miss Fortune. WBG traded 1 for 4, pushed down GAM’s mid and bottom inhibitors, and then secured the dragon soul. In the late game at 32 minutes, a mid lane skirmish saw GAM trade 1 for 2 and attempt Baron, but WBG’s other three players stopped them, wiped GAM’s team, and won the second game.
