AL defeated GEN, securing a 2-game winning streak against LCK! Kael’s Poppy performed flawlessly, while Ruler couldn’t turn the tide.

During the S15 World Championship Swiss round BO1 match between AL and GEN, AL won 1-0, marking their second straight victory over LCK opponents. GEN endured their initial defeat! Kudos to AL!

GEN banned Neeko, Elise, Gwen, Rumble, and Sion, opting for Quasanti top, Xin Zhao jungle, Ryze mid, and Kai'Sa with Alistar bot. AL banned Rumble, Nautilus, Wukong, Orianna, and Azir, selecting Rek'Sai top, Qiyana jungle, Taliyah mid, and Corki with Poppy bot.

At 3 minutes, Tarzan’s Qiyana ganked mid, diving under tower to kill Chovy’s Ryze but died in exchange. Chovy secured first blood with tower assistance. Early on, AL destroyed the first bot tower and claimed two dragons, while GEN took the Rift Herald. AL led by 1k gold. At 18 minutes, both teams fought for the dragon; Kael’s Poppy chased away Canyon’s Xin Zhao, Tarzan’s Qiyana secured the dragon. GEN initiated a fight, with Kiin’s Quasanti catching 3 players, and GEN turned it into a 4-for-0 exchange. At 22 minutes, GEN took Baron Nashor as AL arrived too late.

At 24 minutes, battling again for the dragon, after several skirmishes, Ruler’s Kai'Sa ult was interrupted by Kael’s Poppy. Ruler was instantly killed, and AL eliminated three GEN players, securing the Cloud Soul and the first Baron. At 26 minutes, a jungle clash saw Kael’s Poppy chase down Chovy’s Ryze, and AL outnumbered GEN to kill their jungle and support. At 30 minutes, AL took the initiative to contest the Elder Dragon; Kael’s Poppy chased away Duro’s Alistar, Tarzan’s Qiyana secured the Elder Dragon, and AL then chased down three GEN members, wiping them at the inhibitor and clinching the victory.
