BLG1-0 defeated FNC to secure their first win at S15! Knight declared: aiming to face T1 and take them down.

In the S15 World Championship Swiss round BO1 between BLG and FNC, BLG started with Shadow as their jungler and ultimately won 1-0 against FNC, earning their first victory in the S15 Worlds! This result means GEN, T1, BLG, and likely HLE are all at 1-1 in the group, making the next round of matches extremely intense.

In this game, BLG banned Wukong, Neeko, Azir, Rumble, and Sion, selecting Renekton top, Nidalee jungle, Orianna mid, and Rakan with Xayah bot; FNC banned Xin Zhao, Nocturne, Qiyana, Gwen, and Jarvan, choosing Poppy top, Vi jungle, Ahri mid, and Caitlyn with Morgana bot.

At 2 minutes, Shadow’s Nidalee ganked and killed the overextended FNC bot lane duo, allowing ELK’s Xayah to secure a double kill. Early on, Bin’s Renekton pressured Poppy, BLG took two dragons, and although ELK’s Xayah was killed in a mid skirmish, BLG’s top and jungle secured a 1-for-4 trade and took the Rift Herald, gaining a 3k gold lead early. Mid-game, BLG aggressively contested the Rift Herald; FNC arrived late, and BLG successfully secured it.

At 24 minutes, after FNC took a dragon, mid laner Ahri tried to flank but was spotted; ELK’s Xayah was targeted but survived with low health. BLG killed one FNC member first, then Bin’s Renekton flashed in to catch upset’s Caitlyn, and after a 0-for-4 exchange, BLG secured the first Baron. At 28 minutes, FNC’s Poppy teleported behind and knocked up three players with her ultimate, but Bin’s Renekton managed a 1v4 kill. With reinforcements arriving, BLG eliminated three FNC members and clinched the victory.

In the post-match interview, Knight said: For BO1, the team composition needs to favor team fights. Having a 1-1 record isn’t bad for us. The team we most want to face is T1, to take them down. Actually, drawing GEN and T1 is acceptable.
