In the third round of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Swiss stage, KT defeated TES 2-0, marking their third consecutive win and securing a spot in the quarterfinals; TES now sits in the 2-1 group.
Game One
KT: Rumble, Wukong, Alora, Corki, Nautilus
TES: Aphelios, Jarvan IV, Annie, Kai'Sa, Neeko
Kanavi’s early ganks propelled his team forward, as he consistently secured Rift Scuttlers and the dragon. TES entered a strong snowball phase. At 14 minutes, TES’s three-man group caught and killed Bdd's Alora, but simultaneously Kanavi was picked off by KT in the top lane. KT capitalized massively, gaining kills, destroying TES’s mid outer turret, and successfully securing the Rift Herald.
TES lost control of the tempo; at 17 minutes during the dragon fight, TES secured the dragon but suffered a 1-for-3 trade. Then at 20 minutes, KT’s top lane executed a 1-for-2 exchange to take down Elder Dragon. At 22 minutes, KT’s Corki output peaked with a triple kill, achieving a full team wipe. TES could no longer withstand KT’s damage in teamfights. At 28 minutes, KT won another fight 2-for-5 around Baron, and at 30 minutes, an error by TES’s Annie allowed KT to eliminate both of TES’s carries and take Baron. The match had become one-sided, with KT’s superior wave management leading to a decisive victory in the first game.
Game Two
TES: Qiyana, Zed, Ryze, Xayah, Rakan
KT: Renekton, Trundle, Cassiopeia, Ezreal, Alistar
TES was overly eager early on; although they got some kills, it slowed their jungler’s development. At 12 minutes, TES secured the dragon, but PerfecT’s Renekton teleported in to initiate a fight, killing TES’s top and jungle. Kanavi’s Zed fell behind significantly in the early game.
In the mid-game, TES tried to accelerate the pace but found no openings. KT gradually extended their lead through careful play. At 20 minutes, KT killed TES’s Annie and took Elder Dragon. KT continued to grow their advantage; TES managed to catch a small opportunity but it was insignificant. At 23 minutes, KT secured the drake for a potential soul. KT then caught TES’s Annie and Hang in the top lane and pushed down TES’s top turret. KT then forced a Baron fight, where deokdam’s Ezreal exploded for a quadra kill, securing Baron. TES was completely disrupted, and KT used the Baron buff to pressure high ground, then secured the Infernal Soul to push straight to victory. KT advances to the knockout stage of the S15 World Championship.
