TES0-2 lost to KT, suffering their first defeat! Kanavi underperformed, Hang made numerous mistakes

In the S15 World Championship Swiss round BO3, after two fierce games, TES unexpectedly fell 0-2 to KT, suffering their first defeat at Worlds!

In the first game, KT's lineup was Rumble top, Wukong jungle, Ahri mid, and Aphelios with Nautilus bot; TES fielded Aatrox top, Jarvan jungle, Annie mid, and Kai'Sa with Neeko bot. During the laning phase, both sides traded evenly, TES secured two dragons while KT took the Rift Herald, with TES holding a 1K gold lead early on.

At the 20-minute mid-game fight over Elder Dragon, 369’s Aatrox teleported in aggressively, KT immediately engaged, with creme’s Annie R baiting Wukong’s ultimate, and Perfect’s Rumble delivering a perfect ultimate. KT won the fight 1-for-2 and secured Elder Dragon. At 23 minutes, fighting over the dragon, Kanavi’s Jarvan was instantly killed, KT took the dragon and traded 2-for-2. 369’s Aatrox reengaged and killed Cuzz’s Wukong, but KT’s two carries cleaned up and wiped TES. At 27 minutes, Hang’s Neeko initiated mid but was instantly killed, KT then took Baron. 369’s Aatrox entered but Cuzz’s Wukong dove the backline; KT won a 2-for-5 teamfight, took the dragon, and extended their lead. At 31 minutes, TES’s two carries were killed quickly, KT secured their first Baron. Finally, at 32 minutes, TES tried to engage on Cuzz’s Wukong but lacked damage, KT countered, wiped TES, and claimed the first game victory. The MVP of the first game was awarded to Cuzz’s Wukong.

In the second game, TES picked Qiyana top, Zed jungle, Ryze mid, and Rakan with Xayah bot; KT chose Renekton top, Troll jungle, Cassiopeia mid, and Ezreal with Alistar bot. KT had a strong laning phase, taking the Rift Herald and pushing down the first mid turret blood, leading by 1K gold early.

At the 20-minute mid-game skirmish in the bot lane, creme’s Ryze was killed by BDD’s Cassiopeia ultimate, allowing KT to secure Elder Dragon. At 25 minutes, KT initiated Baron, TES rushed to contest, but BDD’s Cassiopeia ultimate hit three players, causing TES to collapse in the teamfight. KT secured the first Baron with deokdam’s Ezreal scoring a quadra kill. At 28 minutes, KT pushed for the dragon, TES tried to stop them, but KT claimed the Ocean Soul, broke TES’s formation, won a 0-for-3 fight, and secured the match victory.
