AL has taken the lead by advancing to the quarterfinals! TES was swept by KT! They might face LCK again in the upcoming matches!

The 2025 League of Legends World Championship Swiss stage is intensely progressing. Ever since the S series switched from the original group stage to the Swiss format, it has become extremely thrilling! Regardless of your seed number or past strength, any result can happen here! Currently, in the third round, top teams GEN, T1, HLE, and BLG have all reached a 1-1 record group. Former iG champion support Baolan pulled off a godlike move by drawing GEN and T1 against each other, meaning one of these two teams will fall to 1-2 first. No matter how strong these teams are, the upcoming do-or-die match will increase their pressure significantly! Meanwhile, AL and KT both defeated their opponents to achieve three consecutive wins and advance to the quarterfinals, where they will start in the top seed pool for the knockout stage!

Many might not have expected that the only team truly showing strong international performance at this Worlds is AL. Their team boasts a top-tier draft strategy and several players who can step up in critical moments! Their support Kal is never hesitant at key times, whether it’s the dragon-contesting Neeko or the top-tier engage and peel Poppy! Jungler Tarzan is also a steady and reliable player who has carried the team forward. Remember, just two years ago, he was criticized heavily but insisted on doing things his own way!

Now he is the man leading the LPL forward, having defeated LCK teams twice in Worlds, beating GEN and HLE respectively! Then there’s the veteran Saint Gunner, who makes heroes that others struggle with look perfectly natural in this meta! This year, AL truly looks like a championship contender — their playstyle is stable and they win through solid macro play, which is the key to consistent success! The only slight downside is their bottom laner Hope, who tends to be a slow starter; hopefully, he can find his rhythm soon!

On the other side, TES was unexpectedly swept by KT. From the first two matches, KT seemed unstable, while TES executed their strategies flawlessly. Yet in this BO3, TES looked completely lost, unable to perform at all. They kept trying to attack but were continually defended against, forcing them to keep pressing until they finally collapsed and lost! TES now stands at 2-1 and may face another LCK team soon. It’s worth noting they have lost seven straight matches to LCK this year, so if they meet again, it will be very tough. Hopefully, TES can diversify their tactics and make quick adjustments!
