In the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Round third round 1-1 group, G2 defeated BLG to progress to the 2-1 group.
BLG: Qiyana, Nidalee, Ryze, Ezreal, Leona
G2: Poppy, Xin Zhao, Anivia, Varus, Braum
During the early laning phase, neither team's jungler nor support found many chances. At the 7-minute dragon, G2 secured the dragon but retreated, only for BLG to arrive and initiate a fight, resulting in a 3-for-0 exchange favoring BLG, who then surged ahead. At 12 minutes, BLG hesitated in the bottom lane, allowing G2 to capitalize and claim three kills.
The early lead BLG gained was equalized by G2, and in the mid-game, BLG frequently launched small group ganks but failed to extend their advantage. Instead, G2 secured all jungle resources, including three dragons and the Rift Herald. At 20 minutes, BLG caught Caps’s Anivia in the bottom lane, but G2’s four-man squad quickly took down Urgot. As the dragon respawned, both teams contested vision; Shad0w made a mistake and was instantly focused down by G2, followed by ON’s death, allowing G2 to claim the Alchemist Dragon Soul.
BLG grouped up to kill BB’s Poppy on the top lane, but during their push, G2 counter-engaged, and BB retaliated with a double kill, avenging his earlier death. At 27 minutes, G2 pushed the bottom lane and destroyed all five BLG members’ defenses, with SkewMond’s Xin Zhao securing a quadra kill, leading the team to clinch the victory.
