"S15 World Championship Team Toxicity Rankings" updated: AL breaks into top three, KT surprisingly ranks below BLG and TES

Introduction: The S15 season matches have officially started, and most players have likely been paying attention to the recent clashes. The World Championship competition is fierce, and as the Swiss rounds continue, the overall conditions of the teams are gradually revealing themselves. The disparity between LPL and LCK is becoming clearer. Recently, the organizers updated the world team rankings again, surprising fans as an LPL team made it into the top three. AL and T1 share third place, while surprisingly, KT, despite making the quarterfinals, ranks ninth. BLG, despite their performance, is placed seventh.

S15 World Championship Toxicity Rankings Updated

It’s believed that most players are quite interested in this World Championship. So far, two teams have successfully reached the quarterfinals: KT from the LCK region and AL from the LPL region. Honestly, before the event, fans from both regions had low expectations for these two teams, yet they have proven to be the most impressive. Whether facing strong or weaker opponents, they have dominated. Especially AL from the LPL, who faced top-tier LCK teams in two consecutive rounds and showcased exceptional team coordination in BO1 matches. The support player Kael deserves a permanent contract; he must not return to the LCK.

As the competition progresses, Riot's toxicity rankings have been officially updated. Every year, this list draws criticism because the favored teams often encounter issues in the later stages. The top-ranked team remains the LCK champion Gen.G. Although they lost to AL, their overall form is still very strong. Currently, BO1 matches make up too small a portion of the global draft phase, so they don’t fully showcase a team’s depth. BO3 and BO5 are the real tests, where players with deep champion pools can truly shine.

Second place remains with the LCK’s HLE team. There has been some change in third place, with T1 and LPL’s AL sharing the spot. This can be seen as recognition for AL, who defeated three strong teams consecutively in the Swiss rounds. It would be unfair not to acknowledge their progress. However, in my opinion, AL should not be overly optimistic yet. Their core strategies are still quite obvious: the top lane player performs very steadily on the Excavator champion, but the bottom lane remains a weak point, heavily reliant on jungler Tarzan and support Kael’s playmaking. If these two falter in the mid-game, AL could quickly collapse.

Following closely is the all-Chinese CFO team, which hasn’t made the quarterfinals yet but shows consistent form. I don’t understand why Fly is ranked sixth—maybe they received some goodwill points. Seventh and eighth places are held by LPL’s BLG and TES respectively, while ninth is KT, who has already reached the quarterfinals. It’s puzzling why BLG, performing so poorly, still ranks seventh, whereas KT and G2, both with strong chances of progressing, are ranked lower. BLG’s showing at this World Championship has been very weak; they might as well go home and play Douhun Arena.

Farewell thoughts

As the well-known World Championship toxicity rankings update, the results are relatively positive for the LPL region. AL has broken into the top three, while TES and BLG have declined. Both teams’ current performances are quite poor: one has lost continuously to teams from the European and American regions, while the other has failed to win any matches against LCK teams this year. TES seems to have a mental barrier now—no matter the strength of the LCK opponent, their mindset gets affected.
