Huge upset! KT eliminates GEN 3-1 and advances to the finals! Chovy underperforms while BDD dominates like a war god.

In the S15 World Championship semifinals BO5 between GEN and KT, after four fierce games, KT shocked everyone by knocking out GEN 3-1 and moving on to the finals!

In the first game, GEN’s lineup was Sion top, Vi jungle, Taliyah mid, Tristana and Galio bot; KT fielded Rumble top, Jarvan jungle, Yone mid, and Caitlyn with Neeko bot. During the laning phase, Canyon’s Vi set a strong pace with multiple successful ganks. Early on, GEN secured the Rift Herald while KT claimed two dragons, keeping the economy nearly even.

In the mid-game, GEN heavily damaged multiple KT members top and took Baron Nashor. At 27 minutes, a jungle skirmish saw Perfect’s Rumble ultimate misfire, allowing GEN’s dual carries to output perfectly and trade 1-for-4, securing the first dragon. Later at 33 minutes, Cuzz’s Jarvan was caught, and Canyon’s Vi aggressively pushed into the base, but BDD’s Yone counterattacked flawlessly. The teams exchanged 4-for-4 kills, but Cuzz respawned first, enabling KT to claim the Earth Dragon soul. At 37 minutes, while contesting Baron, KT forced GEN away and took it, but Perfect’s Rumble was instantly killed due to poor positioning, and Deokdam’s Caitlyn was trapped by Kiin’s Sion in the pit. GEN traded 2-for-4 and secured the second Baron. However, during GEN’s push, KT’s mid and support initiated and killed Chovy’s Taliyah. At 41 minutes, KT swiftly secured the Elder Dragon, and at 43 minutes, they took the third Baron without damage. Finally, at 46 minutes, KT pushed into the base and clinched the first game. The highest damage dealer was Deokdam’s Caitlyn.

In game two, GEN picked Anivia top, Xin Zhao jungle, Galio mid, and Ezreal with Nautilus bot; KT chose Rek’Sai top, Kiana jungle, Ryze mid, and Varus with Alistar bot. During the laning phase dragon fight, although GEN secured the dragon, Peter’s Alistar initiated perfectly, and KT traded 11-for-4. Later at the Rift Herald fight, Peter was quickly killed, Ruler’s Ezreal cleaned up, and after GEN killed four KT members, they took Rift Herald. Early on, GEN claimed two dragons and led the economy by 1K gold.

At 25 minutes in the mid-game, GEN used vision control to steal Baron Nashor. At 27 minutes, Ruler’s Ezreal landed precise skills to kill Peter’s Alistar, followed by GEN securing the first dragon. Later at 33 minutes, GEN ambushed and killed Cuzz’s Kiana, claiming the Water Dragon soul. At 35 minutes, a jungle clash saw GEN’s multiple Stopwatch activations, killing three KT members and taking the second Baron. Finally, at 38 minutes, GEN engaged under the enemy turret, killed three KT players, and won the second game. MVP went to Ruler’s Ezreal.

In game three, KT fielded Quasanti top, Poppy jungle, Kassadin mid, and Ashe with Lulu bot; GEN chose Aatrox top, Pantheon jungle, Orianna mid, and Sivir with Leona bot. During the laning phase, BDD’s Kassadin solo killed Chovy’s Orianna. At 14 minutes, KT’s mid and jungle ganked Chovy’s Orianna, but Chovy managed a 1-for-1 trade using the turret. KT then won the Rift Herald fight, pushed down two towers early, secured two dragons, and led by 3K gold.

In the mid-game, Deokdam’s Ashe ultimate hit Chovy’s Orianna, KT killed Chovy and took Baron Nashor. At 24 minutes, during a dragon fight, Canyon’s Pantheon ultimate was immediately interrupted by Cuzz’s Poppy, and KT secured the Water Dragon soul but then got wiped out. At 26 minutes, KT initiated a jungle fight where BDD’s Kassadin again solo killed Chovy’s Orianna, with KT trading 0-for-3 and taking the first dragon. Finally, at 29 minutes, KT killed two GEN members in the base and won the third game.

In game four, GEN picked Yorick top, Skarner jungle, Anivia mid, and Lucian with Braum bot; KT chose Ornn top, Dr. Mundo jungle, Cassiopeia mid, and Ezreal with Renata bot. During the laning phase dragon fight, GEN secured the dragon while KT traded 0-for-2. Later at the Rift Herald fight, Cuzz secured the Herald, and KT traded 0-for-3 again, leading by 1K gold early.

At 21 minutes in the mid-game Baron fight, GEN’s formation was broken apart. BDD’s Cassiopeia ulted Ruler’s Lucian, and KT killed two GEN members, securing Baron Nashor. At 26 minutes during the dragon fight, KT took the Chemtech Dragon soul while GEN failed to kill anyone due to insufficient damage. At 28 minutes, KT secured the first dragon after Canyon’s Skarner flashed in. Later at 33 minutes, during the Elder Dragon fight, KT held their ground, secured the Elder Dragon, killed four GEN members, and won the match.
