FAKER declares BLG as the S15 champions! UZI presents the award to the world’s best AD, BDD responds to a decade without a title.

Faker openly mocks BLG

After last year’s full five-game finals between BLG and T1 at Worlds, BLG supporters began persistently provoking T1, and some LPL coaches openly denied T1’s championship, arguing that BLG was stronger overall but lacked luck, resulting in T1 taking the crown. Due to the arrogance of LPL coaches and BLG fans, BLG players also started provoking T1 during interviews. For example, at this year’s S15 Worlds, BLG players repeatedly called out T1 during interviews, hoping to eliminate them in the Swiss stage.

Although T1 players and their official social media did not respond to BLG’s provocations, T1’s mid laner Faker clearly “holds a grudge.” Before the S15 finals began, Faker publicly joked in an official interview that BLG, who went home in the round of 16, are actually the real S15 champions. Compared to Faker’s open mockery, KT mid laner BDD gave a more sincere response, frankly stating in an interview that KT would defeat T1 to win this World Championship.

BDD envies Faker’s career

Although BDD was confident during interviews, KT still had many weaknesses at this Worlds. For example, KT’s top and support players are both rookies with only one year of experience, causing serious flaws in hero pools and mentality. Top laner PerfecT mainly plays Volibear, Rek’Sai, and Mordekaiser, but lacks proficiency on other top champions. This led to PerfecT becoming a major weakness for KT in games four and five, while KT’s support made multiple critical mistakes under pressure in decisive matches.

Because KT’s top and support could not handle the pressure, KT unfortunately lost 2-3 to T1. After the match, BDD was interviewed by the media. The host asked if BDD envied Faker’s career, considering Faker won a championship right after debuting, while BDD has played nearly 10 years without a single title. BDD replied that every LoL player aspires to be Faker. Although he didn’t win this year, he broke his personal best record and will work even harder next year to claim a championship.

Uzi presents award to world’s best ADC

Besides top and support hero pool issues, KT’s bottom lane player Deokdam was also outclassed by T1’s “Little Lu Bu.” KT’s victories were unrelated to Deokdam, while their losses were mostly due to him being dominated by Little Lu Bu. After the match, T1’s Little Lu Bu received the S15 Worlds FMVP award, presented by his career idol Uzi. (When Little Lu Bu debuted, he stated in interviews that Uzi was his idol.)

After Little Lu Bu won the finals FMVP, many fans and pros hailed him as the world’s strongest AD. Even his predecessor Bang praised him during a livestream, calling Little Lu Bu the future successor to Faker. Some fans joked that Zeus left too early; if Zeus had lowered his salary to stay, he might have been the future top laner champion successor instead. Now that T1’s top, mid, jungle, and support all helped Doran win the title, many question the value of Zeus’s championship, believing T1 could have won with almost any top laner.

Conclusion

I personally checked KT’s player contract info and found that KT’s top, mid, and jungle contracts are still valid, with only support and AD contracts expiring next year. It seems if KT can successfully renew their young support and strengthen the AD position, they still have a chance to qualify for Worlds next year. What do you think — does BDD have a good chance to win the championship next year?
