The League of Legends S15 World Championship has concluded. While Faker secured his 6th title, T1 achieved a three-peat, setting records unique in LoL history. After 12 years, Faker’s dominance continues. Given his current form, playing for another two or three years is feasible, and if the roster remains unchanged next year, a 7th championship is within reach.

Xiaolübu earned the Finals MVP thanks to his outstanding performance, becoming the second AD player in LoL history to win this honor (the first being Ruler). The award ceremony was quite interesting — Uzi came on stage to present the trophy to the current top AD in the world. This time, Uzi didn’t steal the championship; he openly raised the FMVP trophy on stage, but unfortunately, only held it briefly before it was taken away.

After T1’s victory, Riot officially announced the champions used by T1 players in this World Championship, which are eligible for championship skins. Doran has 11 options, BigO has 10, Faker 14, Egg 12, K-Doctor 11. Although Faker has the most champions, only 9 are available for skins because Ryze, Orianna, and Sylas already have skins; LeBlanc is in the Hall of Fame, and Kassadin has been chosen before.

What skin Faker will ultimately pick will be decided by fans. In an interview, he mentioned that like last year, fans will vote first, and then he will make the final decision on the championship skin. Personally, I think no voting is needed — just give it to Galio. After winning, Doran initiated a vote among three choices: Lillia, Gragas, and Camille, although other options exist, Doran prefers these three.

Before the KT vs T1 final began, both mid laners, Faker and BDD, were invited to shoot an interaction video. When asked who would win, BDD confidently chose KT. Faker then humorously said: “I think it should be BLG.” Wow, even the six-time champion acknowledges BLG — it seems the ‘industry champion’ title is real. In an interview, Faker said: “This championship is for no one,” implying it’s dedicated to BLG.

Faker’s dry joke really made it hard to hold back laughter. If he had said AL or GEN, it would have been recognition of their strength. But he said BLG, our region’s number one seed, who only reached the round of 16 and couldn’t beat European or American teams, failing to make the quarterfinals — where’s the strength to win the championship? But then again, our region does love the ‘void’ and ‘industry champion’ jokes, so it’s not surprising.

Before this year’s World Championship ended, Riot announced next year’s international event location and format. Recently, media revealed Riot is considering allowing coaches to communicate with players during matches. Riot’s idea is to grant each team 3 communication opportunities, each lasting 45 seconds. This resembles FPS game pauses where coaches can give strategic advice during critical moments.

This idea is quite good. Riot would likely give coaches a one-sided observer view, not a full global perspective like in FPS games, as that would overly influence the match. Players on stage can get confused when behind, so having coaches who see the situation clearly off-stage offer advice would help a lot. The question is whether Riot will actually implement this.

Among T1’s championship skins, Doran’s Camille and Faker’s Galio are highly favored. Keria leans toward Seraphine; he previously voted for Lulu and Neeko and later asked: “How about a female star?” BigO and Egg haven’t spoken, but last year Oner wanted to pick Xin Zhao, so there’s a chance this year. Xiaolübu might choose Caitlyn.
So, do you find Faker’s dry joke funny?
