Introduction: The S15 season has wrapped up, and it's believed that the vast majority of players watched the World Championship finals, where two LCK teams met. T1 triumphed over KT 3-2 to win the title. For the LPL region, it has been many years since they last claimed this trophy; the closest was in S14 when BLG lost 3-2 to T1, just missing the championship. With the season's end, the LOL team rankings have been finalized, and surprisingly, LCK teams dominate the top four spots, leaving LPL struggling to keep up.

Most players are quite familiar with League of Legends. As an esports title, it has grown tremendously over just a decade, achieving great success and even moving closer to traditional sports by becoming an official event at the Asian Games. In recent years, LoL’s overall growth has been strong, but the LPL region has faced some setbacks, mainly due to overall performance. After several veteran players retired, LPL’s results declined, and they have struggled to reach the championship finals, being overshadowed by LCK for many years. Now that the season is over, the official global power rankings have been released.

Unsurprisingly, the top spot goes to T1, who secured their third consecutive championship with a score of 1662 points, despite a season record of 39 wins and 18 losses. It must be acknowledged that T1 is unbeatable at Worlds every year, especially this season as they went undefeated from the play-in stage all the way to the final. One championship might be luck, but winning two or three proves their team strength is overwhelming. Second place is taken by LCK’s Gen.G, who had an outstanding year with a 46-8 record but lost to KT in the semifinals. Had they reached the finals, they might have won the title.

Third place belongs to the runner-up KT, followed by LCK’s HLE in fourth. It’s surprising that the top four are all LCK teams, with no LPL teams breaking into the upper ranks. Although HLE only reached the quarterfinals at Worlds, they were champions of the first split’s VCS tournament, justifying their high ranking. The first LPL team appears in fifth place: AL, with 1562 points and a 44-18 record. They were indeed LPL’s strongest team this season, and if their AD player had been more consistent, they might have even knocked out T1 in the quarterfinals.

In sixth place is the well-known TES team. They failed to win any match against LCK this year. The upcoming S16 season will likely see major roster changes, with TES’s AD player, JackeyLove, publicly stating on stream that he might take a break next season. CFO ranks seventh, followed by BLG in eighth. A surprise on the list might be IG, placed twelfth. Although IG finished 17th this season, they participated in Worlds but are ranked below DK, which seems a bit low.

The LPL region has clearly been thoroughly dominated by the LCK. If it weren’t for Zzitai’s group draw, LCK teams might have faced off in the semifinals. For LPL to turn things around, they need to focus on their teams, recruit top-tier pro players, and build a "super team" capable of competing with LCK. Honestly, IG’s roster is already quite strong, and if they hadn’t faced T1 directly at the start, they could have gone further. With some adjustments, they still have a chance to contend for honors.
