The LOL World Champion was expelled from university! The reason for expulsion is quite "abstract," but the audience seems to understand.

In the LOL esports community, many players sacrifice their education for their career ambitions, leading to generally low academic levels among players. For instance, Faker, the top LOL player, started his professional career without finishing high school. However, some players have higher education, like former RNG top laner Letme, T1 legend Easyhoon, and former WE top laner 957, who all chose to go pro after graduating.

There are also players who enrolled in university but didn't attend immediately, instead taking a break to chase their professional dreams. IG’s top laner TheShy and GEN’s support player duro are examples. Recently, duro unexpectedly announced on his social media that he was expelled from university for some “bizarre reasons,” which made many LOL fans curious about why he would be expelled despite being seemingly fine.

During a recent livestream, duro addressed the issue, explaining that the department head told him he only needed to pay a leave fee and submit a report once a year during his break. However, he recently received an official notice stating he was expelled last semester because he hadn’t paid the fees or submitted the report. This explanation resonated with many LOL fans, with some noting that Korean universities share similarities with domestic ones, where each department has its own rules that sometimes differ from the university’s overall policies.

Although duro’s expulsion is unfortunate, he doesn’t seem bothered by the punishment. He even revealed that a Korean online university has offered to accept him and wants him to serve as their “ambassador.” This statement impressed many fans, as most people would face a bleak future if expelled unilaterally, but duro, as GEN’s support and this year’s MSI champion, has a bright future even if he doesn’t return to school.

Kanavi plans to enforce discipline within HLE.

As the biggest winner of the LCK transfer window, many fans have high hopes for HLE’s future performance, especially since they spent a lot to acquire FMVP player Xiaolübu. Many are also looking forward to how HLE’s jungler Kanavi will perform, as he was often criticized in the LPL for his aggressive attitude. Fans believe that moving to the LCK, where seniority and age are respected, will help Kanavi tone down his temper.

However, to the surprise of many LPL fans, HLE’s recent official video shows Kanavi still acting as the team’s leader, even announcing plans to improve team discipline. Although Kanavi has never won a world championship, he is the oldest member of HLE, older than mid laner Zeka and top laner Zeus. Even Xiaolübu, who has played professionally for nearly seven years, is younger than Kanavi.
