VCT Masters: Crushed by T1, EDG Sent Home with 0-2 Loss

During the Valorant Santiago Masters Swiss Stage Round 2 0-1 Group match, T1 secured a 2-0 victory over EDG, moving T1 to the 1-1 Swiss Group and ending EDG's run in the second round.

Map 1: Bind

Defending side EDG: Viper, Chamber, Neon, Skye, Brimstone

Attacking side T1: Yoru, Viper, Brimstone, Omen, Astra

T1 won the pistol round in the first half. In round 3, Meteor erupted with a quad kill, securing T1's win over EDG's bonus round.

EDG lost the first four rounds consecutively. In round 5, they went all-in for rifles, holding off T1's initial B-site attack, but T1 slowly infiltrated the site. KangKang clutched the round by eliminating stax in the final moments, giving EDG their first round.

T1's attacks were straightforward, consistently winning through B-site executes. EDG's successive defeats hurt their economy; in round 8's rifle round, T1 broke through via Baths with coordinated utility.

T1 built a massive lead in the first half, while EDG struggled to handle T1's offense, ending the half 11-1.

In the second half, stax secured a triple kill to help T1 win the pistol round. In round 14, with their backs against the wall, EDG rushed B-site but were picked off by munchkin's Judge. T1 defended the B-site and comfortably closed out Bind.

Defending side T1: Viper, Sova, Omen, Neon, Killjoy

Attacking side EDG: Sova, Neon, Chamber, Omen, Viper

EDG won the pistol round in the first half. T1 won their bonus round through a dynamic defense that eliminated the spike.

Round 4 saw a three-for-three trade in A Long, but after cb and KangKang entered the site, a one-for-one exchange occurred, with Meteor finishing off KangKang to win the round.

T1 went on a six-round streak. In round 9, Smoggy stepped up, eliminating Buzz to stabilize the post-plant, giving EDG their third round.

T1 dominated on defense in the first half, with cb and Smoggy helping their team secure two rounds in clutch situations. The half ended with T1 leading 8-4 over EDG.

Entering the second half, EDG won the pistol round and added two more. After T1 cleared A-site in their bonus round, stax delivered a triple kill to lead his team to victory.

In round 16, T1 executed a C-site split, quickly taking the site. EDG's three-player retake had limited utility and Buzz caught them off guard. In round 17, nobody's Sova Hunter's Fury took down two opponents, allowing EDG to win an eco round against T1.

In round 19, T1 used both Viper and Killjoy ultimates to successfully rush and take B-site.

In round 20, EDG's 4v4 retake failed, with Meteor getting a triple kill. EDG won two rounds in a row, but in round 23, T1 returned from a timeout to execute an A-site attack and secure a comeback round, winning Haven 13-10.
