Despite his strong effort, Dương Quốc Hoàng (Hoàng Sao) was defeated 6-9 by the Polish player Witor Zielinski in the round of 32 at the Peri Open 2025, ending his participation in the tournament.

The third Peri Open held in Vietnam brought together 256 of the world’s top players from October 2 to 6, with a total prize fund of 200,000 USD. He convincingly passed the qualifying stages (Last 128 and Last 64), defeating opponents from the Philippines and Europe, showcasing his sharp break shot skills and precise cue ball control — familiar strengths that previously helped him reach the quarterfinals of the World Pool Championship and the semifinals of the US Open 2025.
