The pair Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu recently created a remarkable achievement by beating Turkey to earn a ticket to the semifinals of the World Team Three-Cushion Billiards Championship.
Last night's opponent for the Vietnamese three-cushion billiards team was the former champion with a rich record of seven titles, featuring two elite players: Tayfun Tasdemir (world No. 5) and Berkay Karakurt (world No. 10).
At table one, Quyet Chien started unfavorably, trailing Tasdemir 11-3. However, Vietnam's top player quickly regained momentum with high-quality scoring series, equalized the score, and then surged ahead. When behind 29-32, he produced two consecutive series of 6 and 4 points to turn the match around, closing the game with a 40-33 victory in just 15 innings.

Meanwhile, Thanh Tu also staged a dramatic comeback against Karakurt. He once built a large lead of 28-13, but the opponent rallied with a 12-point series to take the lead. At the decisive moment when Thanh Tu led 38-37, a controversial scoring situation was confirmed by the referee after thorough review. The Vietnamese cueist maintained composure, winning 40-37 after 25 innings.

This evening, Quyet Chien and Thanh Tu will face Torbjorn Blomdahl and David Pennor in the semifinals.
The 2-0 victory over Turkey marks Vietnam's third consecutive appearance in the semifinals of this prestigious tournament. In the next round, the team will meet Sweden, where Quyet Chien will confront Torbjorn Blomdahl while Thanh Tu competes against David Pennor.
