Quang Hải, playing in midfield, shared his disappointment that CAHN missed out on victory over BG Pathum even though they were ahead.
Although they went ahead of home team BG Pathum in the first half and had a numerical advantage for much of the match, CAHN still ended up losing 1-2 in a comeback by their opponents against the Thai representative. Taking advantage of the visitors’ lapse in focus during the second half, Thailand’s top star Chanathip Songkrasin scored twice in the 58th and 90+7th minutes.
After the match, team captain and midfielder Nguyễn Quang Hải shared his disappointment at letting the win slip away: "It’s a real pity that we couldn’t hold on to our advantage at the end. Still, the whole team gave it their all, and this was a truly courageous performance from the home side."
Notably, the captain of the police football team also revealed some unfortunate news regarding the squad: Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh suffered an injury. The center-back, born in 1999, received a significant head injury after a collision early in the second half and had to leave the pitch. According to Quang Hải, Việt Anh was taken to the hospital for evaluation right after:
"Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh sustained a cut on his forehead after the collision and has gone to the hospital for a check-up. Hopefully, there’s nothing serious and he’ll be ready for CAHN’s next match."
