Saliba: 'Arsenal must make changes to conquer the Premier League'

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has shared his thoughts on the club's goal to capture the Premier League title this season.

William Saliba, Arsenal's central defender, couldn't hide his disappointment as his team missed out on the Premier League title for a third consecutive season. Despite their determined efforts, Arsenal was unable to surpass Liverpool and Manchester City, leaving fans with a sense of frustration.

Last season, the Gunners finished second, trailing Liverpool by 10 points. It marked the third straight year Arsenal failed to secure the crown, after twice finishing as runners-up behind Manchester City. In the Premier League era, Arsenal has ended up second nine times—two more than Manchester United.

Three consecutive runner-up finishes have been tough for Arsenal, and Saliba believes the team must evolve to achieve their championship ambitions. Speaking to ESPN, Saliba said: "We've finished second three years in a row and we know something is always missing. Now, with a new season ahead, we have to reflect on what we haven't done well so we can win the title."

Arsenal heads into the new campaign with notable new signings. Manager Mikel Arteta has strengthened the squad by bringing in top talent like Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Christian Norgaard. These additions not only refresh the lineup but also make Arsenal more formidable and ready to take on future challenges.

Saliba is confident in the abilities of the new arrivals and believes they will be key pieces in helping the team win trophies. "We won our opening match and of course we want to be champions. With the support of the new signings, our team is stronger and I believe we will win titles this season."

Arsenal will host Leeds United at home in the next round. This is an opportunity for Arteta's side to demonstrate their strength and continue their pursuit of the title. Leeds United, despite a recent win over Everton, has a poor record in London, having lost their last seven away games in the capital. Arsenal hopes to capitalize on this and secure three valuable points.
