The pair, Hong Duy and To Van Vu, have resumed normal training following an extended injury layoff.
During the latest training session, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy and To Van Vu from Thep Xanh Dinh Club were able to join their teammates in practice. Both appeared on the field showing clear comfort during training.
Both To Van Vu and Hong Duy suffered injuries early in 2025 and have been unable to play for Nam Dinh FC. Hong Duy is known for his smooth transitions between attack and defense, speed, and precise crossing. Meanwhile, Van Vu provides midfield balance with his aggressive tackling and effective ball distribution. Their return promises to help the reigning champions address midfield control and left flank issues. However, despite returning to training, it is unlikely that either will be ready to play in the third round match against PVF-CAND on August 27.
After the first two rounds of the new season, Nam Dinh FC has yet to reach full form. In their opening match, they narrowly defeated Hai Phong, and recently, they unexpectedly lost 1-2 to Song Lam Nghe An. With these results, the reigning champions currently sit in 6th place on the leaderboard and will need to push harder in upcoming rounds if they aim to compete for the title.
Following round 3, the V-League will pause for two weeks to accommodate FIFA Days. This break is a valuable opportunity for coach Vu Hong Viet to strengthen the squad, adjust tactics, and help foreign players integrate. Notably, Nam Dinh will play a friendly match against the Vietnam national team on September 7, serving as a quality test for the entire squad.
