Tyson Fury – the boxing legend, revealed that he has officially given up on Manchester United after years of the club being in turmoil. The British icon has shifted his passion to horse racing instead of continuing to follow his favorite football team.
Tyson Fury – one of the legendary figures in boxing, admitted that he no longer has interest in football, especially with Manchester United, the team he once fervently supported. In a conversation with Racing TV, Fury openly shared that he stopped following football after seeing his beloved club stuck in crisis for far too long.
Fury was once a passionate MU fan; he not only attended many matches at Old Trafford but also had the chance to sit next to Sir Alex Ferguson during the historic 4-3 FA Cup victory over Liverpool in 2024. However, he decided to abandon the club after a series of disappointing results, especially under coach Ruben Amorim, who arrived with hopes to improve but failed to deliver any progress.\
MU’s record in the last 29 games under Amorim’s leadership is only 28 points, a terribly poor performance for a club that was once a global powerhouse. Following a frustrating draw with Fulham, MU fans expressed great dissatisfaction and called for Amorim’s dismissal. In this context, Fury confirmed he no longer wants to witness more defeats from the team and has turned his attention to horse racing.
Fury stated: “I don’t support football anymore. I used to be a Man United fan, but since they’ve been stuck in crisis for so long, I don’t want to cheer for any team. I also supported England, but after they lost to Iceland in Euro 2016, I basically ended my relationship with football. Now, my only passion is horse racing, that’s it!”
This change is quite surprising because Fury not only loved MU but was also a passionate fan of the England national team. However, after England’s unfortunate loss to Iceland at Euro 2016, he decided to quit following the sport.
Currently, MU continues to be engulfed in disappointment. After the disappointing draw with Fulham, they are preparing to face Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup before returning to the Premier League to host Burnley on August 30. Questions about Ruben Amorim’s future and whether Manchester United can regain their form remain hot topics among the public.
