Arsenal was forced to call off the private flight arranged for Jakub Kiwior, who was supposed to travel to Porto to complete a £22.5 million transfer.
Arsenal cancelled Jakub Kiwior’s private flight, which was intended to take him to Porto to complete the £22.5 million transfer to the Portuguese club. However, the Gunners have yet to finalize the deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Piero Hincapie, despite the player agreeing to personal terms. Arsenal cannot officially complete the Kiwior transfer until the Hincapie deal is resolved.
Porto reached a personal agreement with Kiwior, who was ready to sign an initial 5-year contract. Porto hopes to loan Kiwior for one season with a mandatory purchase clause next summer. According to Mirror, Porto had prepared a private plane to bring Kiwior to Portugal to finalize the deal, but Arsenal cancelled the flight.
Kiwior’s transfer is currently dependent on Arsenal completing the Hincapie move. The player has agreed to a long-term contract with the Premier League club. Arsenal is considering a loan deal for Hincapie with a compulsory purchase option next summer. However, Leverkusen refuses to accept this unless the player’s £52 million release clause is triggered.
Leverkusen has already lost several important stars this transfer window. Players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Granit Xhaka, and Jonathan Tah have all left the club, so they are unwilling to weaken the squad further unless their demands are met.
With less than a week remaining before the summer transfer window closes, coach Mikel Arteta hopes the club can find a solution for the Hincapie transfer. Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Sunday, August 31, facing champions Liverpool at Anfield.
