The Vietnamese-British striker, Lee Williams, has been included in the Ho Chi Minh City Police FC's roster for the V-League.
Recently, on the official VPF website’s registration list, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC added the name of Vietnamese-British forward Lee Williams. Previously, he had signed with The Cong - Viettel but was not registered to play as the club wanted him to gain more experience first.
Born in 2007 in England, Lee Williams is a young star who once played for Stockport County’s U18 team, a club recently promoted to League One, the third tier of professional football in England. Mainly playing as a center forward, Lee stands out with his ideal physique (1.9m).
Lee Williams’ father is English, and his mother has mixed Vietnamese and Chinese heritage; his maternal grandmother is Chinese, and his mother holds Vietnamese nationality. If called up and completing naturalization procedures, Lee Williams could potentially represent the Vietnamese national team in the future.
Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC replaced a foreign player. Despite Noel Mbo performing well in the last two rounds, he was not retained. His spot was taken by newly announced signing Peter Makrillos.
Peter Makrillos previously played for Stoke’s U18 team (England) before moving on to various professional clubs in South Korea, Greece, Denmark, and Australia. Before coming to Vietnam, the 30-year-old midfielder played for Macarthur FC in the Australian A-League.
The four foreign players registered by Ho Chi Minh City Police FC for the first half of the 2025-2026 V-League season include defender Matheus Felipe, midfielders Peter Makrillos and Endrick Santos, and forward Raphael Utzig.
After an exciting opening round victory against Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC returned to reality with a 0-3 loss to The Cong - Viettel. Tien Linh and his teammates currently rank 10th out of 14 teams with 3 points from 2 matches. Their next opponent in round 3 will be Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who are second to last with 1 point. The goal for Tien Linh and Ho Chi Minh City Police FC is to secure a home win.
