The organizers of the 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship have revealed the tournament’s best XI chosen by fan votes. U23 Vietnam contributed six players to the list.
The 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship concluded with U23 Vietnam crowned as champions. Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad impressed by winning all four matches, scoring eight goals and conceding only one. The runners-up were host nation U23 Indonesia, with U23 Thailand finishing third.
Recently, the tournament organizers announced the best XI selected by fans. Notably, U23 Vietnam provided more than half of the players in this lineup (6 out of 11), including center-back Phạm Lý Đức, defender Nguyễn Hiểu Minh, midfielders Nguyễn Xuân Bắc, Nguyễn Phi Hoàng, Nguyễn Văn Trường, and striker Nguyễn Đình Bắc.
These players all played significant roles in the success of Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team, with Đình Bắc named the tournament’s MVP. The presence of six out of eleven U23 Vietnam players also reflects not only their dominance on the field but also their strong support on social media platforms.
The other players named in the best XI are goalkeeper Nico Guimaraes (Philippines), center-back Kadek Arel (Indonesia), defender Noah Leddel (Philippines), midfielder John Lucero (Philippines), and striker Jens Raven (Indonesia). The 2005-born player was also the tournament’s top scorer. Despite finishing third, U23 Thailand did not have any players featured in this best XI.
Following the U23 Southeast Asia Championship, U23 teams in the region are now rushing to prepare for the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers, scheduled from September 3 to 9.
