Midfielder Hendrio, currently representing Hanoi FC, has been listed as a naturalized player on the VPF’s official site.
According to information on the VPF homepage, midfielder Hendrio has been registered as a naturalized player under the Vietnamese name Đỗ Hoàng Hên. This marks a significant milestone in the career of the player born in 1994.
Born on May 16, 1994, Hendrio developed through the youth academy of the prestigious Barcelona club before spending time playing in various countries.
Currently, Hendrio and Hanoi FC are completing the necessary procedures for naturalization. Only after officially obtaining Vietnamese citizenship will the Brazilian midfielder be eligible to play for Hanoi FC. Therefore, Hendrio will miss several upcoming matches.
Hendrio is currently regarded as one of the top-quality players in the V-League. With excellent tactical vision, flexible ball distribution skills, and outstanding individual technique, he quickly won the hearts of fans since arriving in Vietnam. Hendrio has also expressed his desire to build a long-term career in Vietnamese football and dreams of representing the national team, similar to his former teammate at Nam Dinh, Nguyễn Xuân Sơn.
If called up to the Vietnam national team in the future, Hendrio could combine with prominent players like Quang Hải and Hoàng Đức to form a highly dynamic midfield under the Korean coach’s strategy.
Beyond his professional skills, Hendrio is also highly regarded for his professionalism and affection for the country where he is building his career. In many media interviews, the Hanoi FC player affirmed that he considers Vietnam his “second home” and hopes to contribute for a long time.
Hendrio’s presence continues the trend of naturalizing quality players for Vietnamese football, following successful cases such as Xuân Sơn, Đặng Văn Lâm, and Filip Nguyễn.
