At 33, Carvajal can still compete for another three years, while Arnold has lost his starting spot; Manchester City plans to sign him in January.

The decision of a star player is extremely important. Arnold, once Liverpool’s rising star and part of the top Premier League club, chose to transfer to Real Madrid this summer. Yet, with the 33-year-old Carvajal back to full health, Arnold’s chances of becoming a regular starter at Madrid have diminished. Should Carvajal continue as the main right-back for three more years, Arnold, at 26, cannot afford to wait that long at Real Madrid.

According to exclusive reports from well-known transfer insider “Green Hat Brother,” Arnold has lost his starting position under Alonso’s tactics, and Manchester City plans to bring in the English right-back in January.

The transfer insider revealed that, according to Spanish sources, Arnold is unlikely to regain a starting spot at Real Madrid soon because Carvajal is in excellent form and is Alonso’s preferred choice at right-back. Coupled with Arnold’s inconsistent performance, Carvajal is destined to remain Madrid’s first-choice right-back, leaving Arnold as a substitute. Manchester City is closely monitoring Arnold since Walker’s departure, and Guardiola has yet to find a suitable right-back replacement. If Arnold cannot get playing time at Madrid, City will attempt to sign the English defender in January 2026, having shown strong interest with two previous invitations to the player.
