Vietnam U23 striker opens up after scoring against the reigning V-League champions

Thanh Nhàn points out the distinctions between V-League and the First Division after the unfortunate 1-2 defeat against Nam Định in the third round.

In a thrilling match of the 2025/26 V-League round 3, Thép Xanh Nam Định staged a comeback to win 2-1 against newcomers PVF-CAND at Thiên Trường stadium. Although the visitors unexpectedly took the lead late in the first half thanks to a decisive strike by Thanh Nhàn, Nam Định quickly equalized early in the second half due to an own goal by defender Alain. The 2-1 victory was then sealed by a goal from Caio Cesar.

Sharing his feelings after the match, Thanh Nhàn said: “I feel very happy and proud to have scored, but I would be even happier if my team had won.” This reflects Thanh Nhàn’s team spirit and humility, as he focuses not only on personal achievements but also on the success of the entire team.

When asked about his experience playing in the V-League, Thanh Nhàn shared: “In the V-League, there are many strong teams and the competition is fierce in every match. Each game is a big challenge for us, which makes the league even more exciting.” His acknowledgment of the league’s intense competitiveness shows how much Thanh Nhàn has matured in the professional environment of the V-League.

Regarding PVF-CAND’s first season in the V-League, Thanh Nhàn stated the team needs to improve in many areas: “Our team has a lot to improve. We only had two weeks to prepare for the season and, honestly, we didn’t get much done. However, the upcoming break will be a good opportunity for the team to work on the shortcomings.” This is a very realistic comment on the situation of the rookie team, which is still in the process of perfecting its squad and style of play.

Finally, Thanh Nhàn also spoke about his goals with the Vietnam U23 team: “My goal with the Vietnam U23 team is to pass the qualifiers and reach the final of the U23 Asian Championship.” This goal reflects Thanh Nhàn’s determination and strong desire to contribute to the national team.
