Huỳnh Như scored two stunning goals, yet TPHCM I still lost the championship title to Hanoi.

The 2-2 draw with TPHCM I helped Hanoi clinch the first half title of the 2025 Vietnam Women's National Football Championship.

The highlight of round 5 was the clash between Ho Chi Minh City I and Hanoi. An early surprise came when the opening goal was scored quickly. In the 9th minute, Vũ Thị Hoa accelerated past both Hồng Nhung and Cù Thị Huỳnh Như and finished precisely to break the deadlock for Hanoi. Falling behind early, Ho Chi Minh City I pushed forward aggressively but faced strong resistance from the capital’s team.

Throughout the first half, the southern representative failed to find a way past their opponent’s goal. Conversely, Hanoi had reasons to regret missed counterattack opportunities and went into halftime leading.

In the second half, Hanoi once again found the net when Phạm Hải Yến successfully converted a penalty kick. However, this was the moment Ho Chi Minh City I seemed to awaken. In the 60th minute, capitalizing on a Hanoi defensive mistake, Huỳnh Như sprinted in to accurately finish, narrowing the score to 1-2 for coach Đoàn Kim Chi’s team. At the 72nd minute, the national team captain and striker unleashed a beautiful free kick to equalize 2-2 for Ho Chi Minh City I. Huỳnh Như’s brilliance secured a point for her teammates, but Hanoi remained at the top of the standings after round 5.

In the other match, Phong Phú Hà Nam was eager to claim their first victory of the new season. However, Than Khoáng Sản Việt Nam (Than KSVN) proved to be a tough opponent. Both teams had to share the points in a goalless draw.
