Spanish Coach Identifies Vietnam’s Best Goalkeeper

Gerard Albadalejo, the head coach of Ninh Binh Club, feels proud to have the finest goalkeeper in Vietnam, Dang Van Lam.

Recently, through a well-planned strategy and outstanding individual performances, Ninh Binh impressively defeated the defending champions Nam Dinh at home. After four rounds, the team from the Ancient Capital remains undefeated and holds the top position in the league standings.

Coach Gerard Albadalejo is thrilled to have beaten a strong opponent like Nam Dinh.

“I am extremely happy to have overcome the champions in this match. Nam Dinh proved why they earned that title by fighting until the very last minute. We knew it would be a tough game, but the players played smartly, executed the tactics well, and secured an important win for the fans who supported us wonderfully throughout the match,” he shared.

Besides the brilliance of Hoang Duc and Thanh Thinh, Ninh Binh’s win was also significantly supported by goalkeeper Van Lam. He made several crucial saves to maintain the scoreline for Ninh Binh.

When asked about his goalkeeper, Coach Gerard Albadalejo said: “I believe today Van Lam fulfilled everything we expected from him. With humility and respect for all goalkeepers in the league, I am fortunate to have the best goalkeeper in Vietnam on my team, his achievements speak for themselves. Today, Van Lam demonstrated the qualities of a top-class goalkeeper: excellent in critical saves. In my personal opinion, he is the number one goalkeeper in the country.”

He also emphasized: “This victory belongs to the entire team. Every player followed the plan and fulfilled their role well. It wouldn’t be fair to single out one individual because everyone gave their best effort to secure the win. The atmosphere today was truly wonderful and memorable.
