AFC made one accurate statement about Vietnam's 7-2 big win.

The AFC homepage extended its congratulations to Vietnam’s futsal team following their 7-2 triumph against China’s futsal squad.

"Just one step away from securing a spot at #AFCFutsal2026", the AFC Asian Cup homepage expressed congratulations to Vietnam’s futsal team after their 7-2 win over China in the second match of Group E in the 2026 Asian Futsal qualifiers.

In this match, Vietnam’s futsal team started strongly and quickly took control. At just 37 seconds, Doan Phat rushed in to score from close range after a teammate’s throw-in. Minutes later, Ngoc Anh scored twice in the 3rd and 4th minutes, putting Vietnam ahead 3-0. By the 10th minute, Da Hai increased the lead to 4-0, and before halftime, Thinh Phat added another goal at the 15th minute, ending the first half 5-0 in favor of Vietnam.

In the second half, coach Diego Giustozzi instructed his players to slow down and conserve energy for the decisive match against Lebanon in the final round. Nevertheless, Vietnam’s futsal team scored again with a sharp shot from Thinh Phat in the 33rd minute. Shortly after, China’s captain Gu Hai Tao was sent off, and 36 seconds into the numerical advantage, Vietnam secured their seventh goal, also by Thinh Phat.

In the final minutes, China managed to score twice to reduce the deficit, but it did not affect the outcome. The first was a penalty awarded after Vietnam’s sixth collective foul in the 36th minute, followed by a goal from Yimuran Yimanu in the 38th minute. Ultimately, Vietnam’s futsal team won 7-2, confirming their superior strength and maintaining their lead in Group E.

With this result, Vietnam’s futsal team remains firmly at the top with a perfect 6 points. In their last match against Lebanon’s futsal team (4 points) on September 24, coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad will need only a draw to qualify at the top spot. This match is expected to be intense, as Lebanon is known for strong fitness, solid tactics, and more experience compared to Hong Kong (China) and China.
