The Vietnam national team has received notification about the referee for the match against Nepal in the Asian Cup.

The refereeing crew for the Nepal vs. Vietnam match on October 14th has been finalized.

As previously reported, the second leg between Nepal and Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup third qualifying round will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) on October 14th. Recently, the referees assigned to this match have also been announced.

The main referee will be Mr. Mohamed Khaled Tarrar Deham from Bahrain. Recognized as a FIFA-listed referee since 2021, Deham has quickly become a familiar figure in tournaments organized by the Asian Football Confederation. In the 2024/25 season, he has been entrusted with numerous responsibilities, serving as the main referee and fourth official in matches within the AFC Champions League Two as well as continental qualification rounds.

A notable highlight is Deham’s appointment as the fourth official for the 2025 AFC Champions League Two final. Most recently, this referee took charge of the U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifier between Bhutan U23 and Turkmenistan U23.

Supporting referee Mohamed Tarrar Deham is a Bahrain officiating team including two assistants, Salman Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Salman Talasi and Salah Abdulaziz Abdulla Mohamed Janahi, along with the fourth official, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Khalil Saad. Meanwhile, the match supervisor is Mr. Richard Del Fonso Joson from the Philippines, and the referee assessor is Mr. Saleh Mohamed Abdulla Hasan Al Marzouqi from the UAE.

The two October matches against Nepal hold significant importance for coach Kim Sang Sik’s team. Winning both games would keep Vietnam’s hopes alive for qualifying for the Asian Cup finals, while also earning points and improving their FIFA ranking. After the first two games, Vietnam currently holds 3 points and ranks second in Group F.

To prepare for these crucial upcoming fixtures, the Vietnam team plans to convene in early October. Recently, the squad also utilized time during the September 2025 training camp to review the roster, strengthen tactics, and foster team cohesion.
