For the very first time in his career, Mohamed Salah achieved 4th place at the Ballon d'Or awards.
Mohamed Salah, who won the Premier League Golden Boot last season, was also named the Premier League Player of the Season and included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
However, the Egyptian forward finished 4th in the 2025 men's Ballon d'Or rankings, with PSG's Dembele taking first place and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal coming in second. Vitinha, like Dembele, who won Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the Champions League with PSG last season, placed third.
Although Salah did not win the 2025 Ballon d'Or, the 33-year-old striker surpassed his personal best by finishing in 4th place in the rankings. This officially marks the highest position Salah has ever reached for the Ballon d'Or title.
Salah was one of the standout performers individually during the 2024/25 season, leading Liverpool to the EPL title in Arne Slot’s first year. The Egyptian striker scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists in 52 appearances for Liverpool, who started the 2025/26 season impressively with five straight wins in the Premier League.
Before the 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris on Monday, former Tottenham Hotspur striker and Egyptian international Mido publicly called for Salah to win the award.
“I truly believe Salah will be the winner tonight... he deserves this title after everything he has done for the football world... he is an incredible role model for young people worldwide, bringing them hope and pride for his country. Let’s be fair to him just this once and make it happen this year. Give him what he deserves.”
