The Nepal national team has promptly announced a list of 33 players assembling to prepare for two matches against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers scheduled for October.
On October 9 and 14, Vietnam and Nepal will compete in two matches within Group F of the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. These encounters will take place at Binh Duong Stadium and Thong Nhat Stadium, respectively.
To get ready for these matches, Nepal’s head coach Matt Ross recently revealed a 33-player roster. This squad mainly consists of players active in the domestic league and key figures of the national team.
Among them is goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong, who is 35 years old and has appeared in 107 matches for Nepal. Additionally, forward Anjan Bista has earned 70 caps and scored 13 goals. The team also gives opportunities to young talents like Ayush Ghalan, Samit Shrestha, and the 17-year-old striker Subash Bam.
After the first two matches, Nepal suffered defeats against Malaysia (0-2) and Laos (1-2), leaving them without any points and currently at the bottom of the group. However, with early preparations, coach Matt Ross’s team is determined to surprise the Vietnamese squad.
