Head coach Glenn Ramos of Cebu Club believes CAHN is currently the strongest team in Vietnam and that the Philippine representatives must remain highly vigilant.
After the unfortunate draw in the AFC Champions League 2, CAHN continues to compete in another international tournament, the Southeast Asian Club Championship. The police-affiliated team will host the Philippine representative, Cebu Club, at their home ground.
At the pre-match press conference, Cebu’s head coach Glenn Ramos revealed that they have prepared thoroughly and affirmed that CAHN is the strongest team in Vietnam at the moment: “I am very eager to come to Vietnam to face a very strong opponent like CAHN. The entire team is ready.
I have watched CAHN play, most recently their match against the host Beijing Guoan (China) in AFC Champions League 2. They have a balanced squad with quality foreign players. I am most impressed with Alan. He is a very dangerous striker. Cebu Club is ready to take on the strongest team in Vietnam right now. We have prepared carefully and aim for a victory at Hang Day Stadium.”Coach Glenn Ramos stated.
Also attending the press conference, player River Leddel commented that CAHN has very high-quality foreign players.
“We have carefully studied the playing style and each player, especially the foreigners. The whole team is well prepared and will show this in the official match. Cebu respects the opponent but is ready to unite and strive for victory together.”
In their opening match, CAHN suffered a comeback defeat against BG Pathum United, so their next task is a must-win. Meanwhile, Cebu also lost to Tampines Rovers in their first game.
Cebu is rated significantly lower than CAHN; last season, they finished 4th in the Philippine National League. Cebu even lost to Kasuka, a club from Brunei, in the Southeast Asian Club Championship qualifiers. If CAHN performs at their best, they are likely to secure an easy victory. The match between the two teams will take place at 7:30 PM on September 24.
