The Vietnam U17 Women's National Team is back in Hanoi, prepared to start the 2026 Asian Qualifiers journey.
This afternoon (September 23), the Vietnam U17 Women's Team arrived in Hanoi, concluding a two-week training camp in the Federal Republic of Germany. During this period, Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his players had the chance to train and compete against two historic Bundesliga clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen, as part of the cooperation program between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Bundesliga.
The "Bundesliga Dream" training camp from September 10 to 21 was highly praised for providing valuable lessons, helping the young players gain important experience both technically and mentally. This also served as a crucial preparation step for the team's upcoming journey.
After taking a day off locally, starting September 25, the Vietnam U17 Women will resume training to prepare for the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers scheduled for October at Binh Duong Stadium. With the experience and confidence gained from the German camp, the whole team aims to achieve the best possible results to advance to the continental stage.
According to the draw for the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers, Vietnam U17 Women are placed in a group of three teams, specifically Group D, alongside Hong Kong U17 Women (China) and Guam U17 Women.
The qualifiers feature 27 teams divided into 8 groups: 3 groups of 4 teams and 5 groups of 3 teams. The eight group winners will join four teams already qualified for the final tournament of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 by special invitation, including North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China.
The qualifiers are planned to take place from October 13 to October 17. The final tournament will be held from April 30, 2026, to May 17, 2026. Previously, the AFC assigned the Vietnam Football Federation to host one of the qualifying groups, meaning the Vietnam U17 Women will play on home soil in the upcoming qualifiers.
