Ninh Binh FC achieved a solid 2-0 win over Nam Dinh, the reigning champions, becoming the only team to maintain a perfect winning record in the LP Bank V-League 2025/26 up to now. From being feared as newcomers, the question now arises: What are the true limits of Coach Gerard Albadalejo’s squad?
No one can give an exact answer, but it is certain that Ninh Binh FC is the standout team of this V-League season. After defeating Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh surpassed a club from Turkmenistan to hold the longest unbeaten streak in Asia at the moment: 28 matches.
Counting only regular 90-minute matches from October 20, 2024, to now, the Hoa Lu capital team has remained unbeaten in 28 games, with 24 wins and 4 draws. This record is already commendable in the First Division, but the level of competition there cannot compare to the V-League, which includes foreign players.
Yet, stepping into the V-League as a rookie, Ninh Binh FC has kept an impressive winning streak with 5 straight victories from the start of the season (1 in the National Cup, 4 in the LPBank V-League). They score at least 2 goals in every match, showing the true competitiveness of Van Lam, Hoang Duc, and their teammates. Consecutive wins over Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, and especially the defending champions Nam Dinh have helped Ninh Binh FC gain recognition not only nationally but also on the regional and continental stage.

Currently, Ninh Binh FC and Arkadag, the strongest club from Turkmenistan, are the two teams vying for the longest unbeaten run. Arkadag has been unbeaten for 27 consecutive matches since April 9, 2024, across domestic league, National Cup, Super Cup, and Asian Cup tournaments. On September 21, Arkadag extended their streak to 27 by defeating Ahal 4-1. However, just two days later, Ninh Binh overtook them by reaching 28 unbeaten games.
Compared to Arkadag and other V-League competitors, Ninh Binh has the advantage of focusing on only two competitions: the V-League and National Cup. The playing style crafted by Coach Gerard Albadalejo has become increasingly polished and flexible against each opponent. Facing Thanh Hoa or SHB Da Nang, they confidently control possession; but against Nam Dinh, even at home, Ninh Binh willingly cedes control, effectively utilizing quick counterattacks and set-piece situations.
At present, Ninh Binh FC is the only team with a perfect winning record in the V-League and holds the record of 28 unbeaten matches. Nevertheless, the coaching staff and players understand that every record can be broken, and every team has its limits. "My goal and that of Ninh Binh Club is to focus on each match individually. We have not lost any match since the beginning of the season, but this is just the early stage. The whole team is committed to maintaining focus for the upcoming games.
I, along with my teammates who previously played in the First Division, really miss the V-League atmosphere. Everyone is delighted to play in such an enthusiastic environment," goalkeeper Van Lam expressed on behalf of his teammates.
